Czech Republic had one of the very first people in space along the Soviets, is known for having both oldest and most important astronomical institute dating back to late 17th centory and is ranked among the leading countries in space industry... So not really.. Many cosmic bodies were both discovered and named by Czech scientists.
@smik25185 ай бұрын
@@GrimmaStadguard Czech Republic had all of that only because soviets allowed them to and helped them with every single thing like training, developing space suit, developing an experimental program, etc. … before Soviet Union Czech Republic was one big horse stable, just as most of Eastern Europe, and if they suddenly have had such a big technological and scientific leap it was only due to the ussr… It was only the “good will” of soviets to put a Czech guy on that space ship. Ofc everyone know that Soviet “good will” was always very expensive in the end, but that is for another discussion…

@@smik2518 Buddy, to say at least, your knowledge of history and socio-economical development is visibly more than just lacking... And the fact that you refer to Czechoslovakia as "Czech Republic" while talking about cold war makes it hard for me to even take you seriously... If anything, the Soviets actually worsened the economical and scientific situation in Czechoslovakia by forcing the nation to implement Heavy industry and forcing Czechoslovakia to expell 36% of their workforce according to Košice decleration. Later on, the Czechoslovak industry was in such a bad state because of direct soviet intervention, that they had to implement some capitalist practices to their newly formed socialist 1960 constitution by Novotný and Šik to at least stabilize the economy... Not to mention that 1) Soviet space program was always a WTO-joined, most of Soviet technology used for the space program came from all around the Bloc. 2) I was mostly talking about Bohemia during 1700s and its discoveries in astronomy and then 21st century Czech Republic. 3) Calling Czech lands a "horse stable" just prooves to me how uneducated you are... Bohemian lands had over 60% of A-H's industry... Those lands were always extremely well developed just like its capital Prague, which had one of the most respected universities in Europe... Especially in Astronomy. So no, there never even was any "huge leap" that you are talking about, because there didnt need to be in a nation with such a high development index... Not to mention that Czechia was almost completely unaffected by the WW2... Hope this helps you understad better.

However if they land here or we land there well we all get scared of what we don't understand and don't know so I think than things may b hostile but not if we're smart. Another issue is the introduction of new diseases and sicknesses. We or they could almost annihilate each other completely unintentionally by the diseases one species is accustomed too and the other isn't. Real talk: I used to be petrified of spiders as a kid, but the more the years went on, the more I felt comfortable leaving them to do their own thing, so long as we stay out of each others way. I killed spiders when I was younger out of fear and hate that I did. I'm 37 now and for the past 15 or so years, whenever I've come across one, no matter how big, I leave it to do its own thing. If it comes near me, I get away from it, but if it's trapped somewhere (like in the bath tub for example), I get a glass and fling it back outside. I came to realise that everything is just trying to get by in life, and most creatures don't go out of their way to harm you. We don't choose what we're born as, and killing them just because they're something you're afraid of is so sad and wrong. So I wish more people came to this understanding and just left other creatures alone to live in peace, despite how afraid they may be. As for the vid - I didn't watch more than a minute of it because it looks interesting enough to watch, so thanks for the vid because it's given me a new film to try! Thumbs up for you!

If you want to get a spider to move away, you can either blow some air on it or flash some lights on it. It will move away. Most spiders are fairly shy and avoid humans, so they mostly tend to leave. It's what i do if a spider is above where i want to be, i just blow some air and the spider moves in the opposite direction away from where i need to be. I let them be because i hate mosquittos with a burning passion. They get free food, i get the satisfaction that mosquittos are being obliterated. Win-win. Flies might be annoying, but they are tolerable, but mosquittos are insufferable. So spiders are good for that.

Spiders have always been and always will be friends. They do more for us than any other member of the animal kingdom. Yes, including bees. Edit for elaboration, cuz big daddy doesn't do more than one comment a post* As mentioned sanitation and pest control, but guess what, mother puckers? They're also one of the major pollinators. That's right, there are spiders that tool on the pollinators job of bees, a job that, shock and awe, is shared by a majority of the animal kingdom to he point where bees are just number 1 in certain parts of the globe. You know what else spiders do? They fertilize the ground when they drop their prey into the ground. "But bug-exoskeletons aren't that rich in nutrients" hey! Good for you, you're wrong! And also, spiders don't JUST eat bugs. Lizards, snakes, centipedes (the actual threats), some birds- The hornet is our bouncer, killing and ejecting invasive species. The bee is our gardener. The flies are garbage men, and the ants the builders. Spiders do it all. Baby. Spiders do it all.

Wouldn't it be awesome if all spiders were this wise and could reveal truths about ourselves that we are blinded to? Just not this massive. I felt the hugging was just too sentimental as it isn't natural to the space spider and earth ones too.

Personally, I get really tired of "science fiction"/space movies that are actually just thinly veiled fantasies about cherishing your loved ones. I feel cheated when a movie I thought was going to be about astronauts doing cool space stuff is suddenly just magical nonsense about their emotions. But everyone else seems to love them, cuz they keep making more. *shrug*

Humans are story-telling creatures and most of the stories we tell are about connection and struggle. This is even more-so when the protagonist is alone and the essential connection is lost and he/she is adrift, both realistically and metaphorically, in space. In an attempt to leave a channel open for communicating the story the film-maker arranges it so the Astronaut/explorer is left with memories of home, bad decisions they've made and the people and relationships important to them. This dynamic is also acknowledged by psychologists and other authorities on human behavior who are working now on future space missions of long duration in hopes of folding these emotional components into the design of future spacecraft and the protocols necessary to insure the physical and mental stability of the crew and of that set of protocols the one most focused on is connection, the ability to maintain human connection although a million miles from home while avoiding or redirecting depression, loneliness, yearning and hope. I've been aware of these principles for a long time and have applied them to many of the sci-fi movies I've encountered over the past few years and it wasn't until recently that I watched one that really seemed to defy my analysis at first: The Martian. Watney, the hero of the tale doesn't seem to have those entanglements and crisis at home that occupy the minds of so many fictional characters in sci-fi, instead he is focused completely on the mission and survival without much of a human connection to anyone back home (except those in mission-control who are trying to get him back home). So, for the bulk of the movie he is more disconnected from humanity than is usual in movies of this kind and that bothered me, or maybe it baffled me...I'm not sure. It wasn't until he was ready to take-off and was sitting in the pilots seat as the people at home worked through the launch sequence and he began to cry that I saw the process I was looking for and the longing and doubt and hope that had to be there all along...and I observed the lover he desired and that had occupied his mind all along, she had merely been hiding, disguised, nestled into the script but not obvious, her name was Earth...
@NevTheDerangedАй бұрын
@@waynemyers2469 wow. That's a great analysis! I liked the Martian a lot because it didn't go in for the cheap "love = space magic" angle that so many "sf" movies do. I totally get why people love them, and I know they will keep making them. I just wish we could also have other approaches to leaven the mix a little.
@waynemyers2469Ай бұрын
@@NevTheDeranged Several movies come to mind that might fit the bill, let me know if you've seen any of them: Dark Star, Silent Running, Time Crimes (sub titles) Enemy Mine and Snowpiercer. Science fiction without the drama.
@NevTheDerangedАй бұрын
@@waynemyers2469 I've seen a few of those. I wouldn't say they are without drama, just without supernatural nonsense. Enemy Mine is a particular favorite, I highly recommend Barry Longyear's novels that the movie is based on. And I'm not totally against weird space magic, either. I'm just not interested in the bait and switch.
