Mountain king = troll And the dumb kid who's actually there and being threatened doesn't actually run away IIRC, he's being cornered by a bunch of angry trolls because he dared to screw around with the king's daughter, and then he bluffs his way out of there because bluffing is the only thing he's good at.

In Peer Gynt, the trolls aren't really described as being monstrous or ugly particularly. The mountain king's Daughter is actually supposed to be beautiful. The difference is that trolls do only enough to get by, and put very little effort into their lives. At the end of the play, Peer is told that his soul is going to be melted down, and he doesn't go to heaven or hell because he hasn't made any effort in his life to be himself. He has effectively lived his entire life as a troll.

I find something interesting about this. This piece was originally composed for the play Peer Gynt, where the title character is taken into troll lair in the mountains in order to marry the troll king's daughter, so this this comes across a lot sexier now.

@@bobbycorwen Know I'm late to the party but, "The Lick" is a series of seven notes that you hear in so much jazz music it's become iconic and is even regarded as "the most famous jazz cliché ever". It's specifically those seven notes played at 2:35. If you listen to jazz music you tend to find that one or a few other really iconic "licks" in most of them, and with more and more people being exposed to jazz and it's many forms over the internet even casual listeners began noticing "the lick", eventually turning into a bit of a meme.

@@cameronplaystrumpet6777 nah, pretty sure he meant 5/8 - as in complex time (as opposed to 6/8 which is compound). 5/4 is typically more like 4/4 with an added beat, so still subdivided in 2s (simple time). Obviously it's all about how you choose to count it/feel it/how quickly it moves, but that's a general rule of the way the time signatures are used.

Playing songs in 6/8 or waltz time is one of my favourite past times. I first did it with Purple Haze in a band I was in and it’s absolutely amazing and since then I try it with just about everything. Otherwise, taking songs in 3/4 and playing them in 4/4 but with a funk rhythm is also very much fun.

This is written completely on the fly, and there's at least one plot hole but it's too late in my time zone right now for me to be up, much less writing. "Don't get me wrong, I like this whole 'vigilante justice' thing we got going on," Rachel said. "But I didn't really sign up for, y'know, jail time." "And you're not /getting/ jail time," Kirsten said. "Because this going to be easy." She craned her neck, looking over her shoulder. "Cass! How we doin' over there?" "Just fine," Cass said, casually typing away at her computer. "Lemme tell you, your dad's funds are really helpful. Gently, with all the care in the world, Kirsten slid it into a cushioned case, and into her duffel bag. "Move it, you two!" Cass snarled. "Get out of there!" "Don't have to tell us twice," Rachel said, already moving for the door. "Nadia, you got the car?" Kirsten whispered. "Got it," Nadia replied. "Ready when you are. Waiting on the corner of 5th and Alto." As nimble as a cat, Kirsten opened up one of the windows and hopped out into the bushes, with Rachel in tow. Once the two were far enough away from the museum, they walked normally, trying to avoid any attention. 1:22 - *Night Of, 2:43am* "Not bad," Nadia said once they were all back in their shared little hotel room. Kirsten was busy changing into pajamas, and Rachel was already yawning on the couch. Cass examined the artifact they had gotten, carefully measuring every inch. "Nadia, leave the van," Kirsten said. "Rachel, grab the artifact. Cass, grab your laptop, nothing else. We can replace that stuff." The van screeched to a halt, and all of them jumped out. The car directly behind them barely avoided crashing into the van, the rest of the cars slowing down slightly. Rachel's lungs burned from exertion - the duffle bag, with the idol inside, was cradled in her arms. 2:08 - *Night Of, 3:37am* A gunshot rang out, spurring all of them into a full sprint, like they had never run before. Blood rushed in Rachel's ears, adrenaline being the only thing keeping her going. The jet was so, so close - the back opened up, the pilot waiting patiently for them all to get inside. 2:16 - *Night Of, 3:37am* Rachel could feel herself slowing down. The police were gaining. So she did the only thing she could think of; a split second thought made in the haze of adrenaline. She called out for Kirsten, tossing the duffle back to her. Thank god, she caught it. Her knees went out from under her, and with a grunt, she hit the concrete, barely ten feet from the plane. 2:23 - *Night Of, 3:38am* A hand on her shoulder. She grimaced, preparing for the cool metal of cuffs around her, only to suddenly be slung over someone's shoulder. She slammed into the floor of the jet. 2:31 - *Night Of, 3:38am* As Rachel caught her breath, she glanced up to see Kirsten, giving her a sloppy smile. "Trying to be the hero, eh? Hate to break it to you, but we work as a team here. No solo acts." Rachel could only manage a weak laugh in response. 2:38 - *Night Of, 3:42am* After profusely thanking the jet staff for getting it all ready on such short notice, the four of them relaxed in the jet's main area, most of them barely awake. Kirsten nudged Rachel with her foot. "So? Like your first heist?" Cass groaned. "Normally we don't get caught." "Don't worry," Nadia said. "Hard part's over. Well, mostly." "Just..." Kirsten sucked in a breath. "Close windows next time, alright?"

It's probably not a soundfont and more like an East West thing or a kontakt library.

It's not a sound font, but I use Noteperformer from Arne Wallander. It's not a vst either and Noteperformer will only work with notation software. I love it.
