In the Heart of England's Cotswolds Walking in the Rain

So, today we are out and about walking in the Cotswold Village of Winson which is located in the county of Gloucestershire, England. The village is not far from the River Coln. Neighbouring villages are Ablington and also the very popular Bibury.
The parish church is St. Michael's which is central to the village and dates back to just before the mid twelfth century.
This is what you might call a progressive walk as it starts of with a tree lined trail then country lanes and then onto residential lanes to soak up the beautiful sights of Cotswold houses & cottages, all the while with the pitta-patter of rain drops on the umbrella.

I favor studying the fences: all of them end up perfectly level whether hill or dale, some uncapped or smooth capped or inlaid with "teeth" or layered in thinner stones; man talls and waist shorts; coiffured bushes and gates and doors; straights, cornered, curved; inlaids or built-ins. Miles and miles of them, inconceivable, timely like the pyramids and calmingly beautiful (here anything goes creating clashes, chaos and visual noise). That's why walking with you is so inviting, they're so doggone peaceful even with folks and vehicles bandying about. But! Autumn be the ipitamy when even the Sun comes down to rest, such vivid yellows, Stunning! And that twould be me perching statues and Mr🎃s on me ledges. Say, 🚶was visiting a 3-level; noticed its cornerstones? Me house though brick has the same corners plus where wall meet roof there be "soldiers", bricks standing vs laying with every other leg kicked out. I might like to live in Winson, Sir🕶️. Yep, I could rightly take to it.

​@@OutandaboutWalking Yes, your engineer latched onto ALOT of railcars. Despite me running lickity I be darn lucky to snag the cabbose. Boy I swung the lantern for you to brake but to neredewell. So toss it I had to (and note when a train's running fast forward, walking forward on the floorboards is like keeping from floating in space), crawl through every car, passenger or cargo, smudge up atop the coal car to reach the engine. The engineer's eyes did pop out in surprise.... us boney old ladies are tough! Heck, now he's got me shoveling coal to keep the steam, don't mind at all, I must look a sight as he's laughing all the time.

Beautiful and gentle walk in the rain.. Winson is a charming village, with pretty little roads, in this magnificent countryside!!. The beginning is very pretty in this little grassy path in the trees. The thatched roof house on the corner looks like a mushroom!!. Lots of sweetness and peace in this walk. Thank you for another stunning video. The colours of the Autumn trees like a small dose of utter joy. The sound of the rain reminding me how much I love to hear the rain while enjoying not having to return home with sodden shoes. What a delight to have yet another walking experience that includes so many enjoyable elements: the peaceful sound of rain; lovely country and woodland scenery; late autumn foliage; a really old and interesting looking church; a pretty village with charming homes. Nicely done! As our weather today in our area has been that rather sloppy type of precipitation that is somewhere in between rain and snow, and that lacks the peaceful properties of either of these things (though it does soak through the clothing/shoes quite quickly), this virtual walk was doubly enjoyed. : )

I am curious... is this considered a wealthy neighborhood?.. the homes are quite large and elegantly landscaped.... I live in Los Angeles California, USA... homes this size in Beverly Hills and nearby would be probably 20 million dollars... I'm not kidding... xoxo thank you for the armchair travel.. It certainly would be considered wealthy for The UK and England in general but around only a bit above average for the lovely Cotswolds

Oh my absolute goodness! 20 millions dollars is so much! These house are likely nowhere near that - I would assume they are, on average, 800000 to 4M pounds which is equal to 1.01M to 5.05M dollars! 😀😃😄

Hi, Themba. As I understand it, only listed buildings need permission to be painted, especially if it is for the first ever time the listed building is being painted. Although there are no hard and fast rules about keeping within the character of the neighbourhood it would be a shame to paint the external walls of a house that is built in the beautiful Cotswold stone.
