In the Hoop Embroidery - Mug Rug with Scrap Fabric from Stash

This in the hoop embroidery project uses scrap fabric from your stash making it budget friendly. This is a great project to learn about embroidery in the hoop and use up some of the scraps that you've saved.

These projects are great for learning how to use your embroidery machine. In the hoop embroidery means exactly that - the whole project you make is in the hoop of your embroidery machine. For this in the hoop project we are going to make one of those ever so popular mug rugs. Great for gifts or keeping your surfaces moisture free.

I love in-the-hoop projects. Since I got my embroidery machine 2 years ago, I have made several ITH projects. Just can't get enough of them. My local quilt shop carries Kimberbell but I don't do them because they use discs. I prefer to download designs. It saves a lot of time and money.

It is a little more difficult these days because none of the machines comes with disc drives. I have an external drive that I connect to my laptop. I am with you, ITH is fun!

What is the name of the ‘tape’ you are using?

It is Kimberbell embroidery tape. OESD makes one as well. There is a link to the Kimberbell on Amazon in the video description. I think Jennifer carries it too. 😀
