Paris Olympics proved again that picking just the best players in the WNBA does not make a great team. team USA got extremely happy against France. Leaving out Angel Reese en Caitlin Clark and sticking with over the hill players like Taurasi and Gray was a huge mistake. Cheryl Reeve could not spot talent if it was standing in front of her!

It was not! The best predictor of future behavior is past behavior. All those ladies selected are proven winners and know what it takes to gut out a win for championships. Most are champions at every level. I’d take Reese over CC for that reason. In a game like they played with France, the physicality… it’s not finesse any longer. That’s why they were selected. That experience and that grid and get it play is why the youngsters will have to wait their turn. It would have been a disaster with them out there. Reese needs a bit more muscle and the other needs to mature because she still whines too often when things don’t go her way as a rookie. Not going to lie, 2028 may see team USA’s 1st loss in many decades l, because the 2 projected stars aren’t gut it out win at all cost players.
