I’m 83, and grew up listening to this stuff, plus Elvis and the rest of course, but my Mum taught me how to dance to this. I later learned more. But I’m now locked in an isolation room with a bloody bad dose of covid, with everything that goes with it. I’ve just found this lady on my phone, and she is taking away so much of the way it’s beating me up. Reignited my fuse. As soon as I can, I’ll be back with my Clown troupe, Queensland’s Coastal Caring Clowns, entertaining the oldies in the Nursing Homes. I’ll have a new life now.

To me this early vocal jazz is a golden age of music that later descended into showmanship and technical wankery, and the spirit was lost. So glad to see it back again!
