I am not military. I am a WW2 buff. But this music is beautiful. My mum said her dad listened to up to the day of his demise. (Scotland). I didn't know that. Absolutely beautiful guys.

They are the USAF Airmen of Note, which were started in 1950 to carry on the Glenn Miller Army Airforce Band tradition. They continue to wear the Glenn Miller era attire, but are all active duty members of the Air Force! Our full concert covers a lot of the history of the band and Glenn Miller himself

Many years ago, Roy Rogers had celebrated his birthday, and his lovely wife, Dale Evans, gave him a beautiful pair of cowboy boots. The next day Roy went riding out on the range with those beautiful boots on his feet. On the trail, he came across a mountain lion and got into a real tussle with it. Roy came away with only a few scrapes, but the big cat did a bit of a number on his boots. Roy rode home and had to tell Dale of his run-in with the mountain lion and the resulting torn up shoes. Being the loving and considerate wife, she of course put him at ease, telling him that the most important thing is he came home not too badly hurt. A few days later, the two of them went riding together. Off in the distance, Dale spotted a big cat, motioned to Roy and asked, "Pardon me, Roy... Is that the cat who chewed your new shoes?"

Wow Sang this with my friends mom, Janey… ( at the end of the day when we worked together)she was 88 and I was 62… remembered it well from my childhood. Janey went to be with the Lord and I’m driving in the car one day, maybe a month later, and this song comes on. I cried my head off. But now it just brings me joy. I know Janey is in heaven and we will sing it again someday together❤️🙏

@@wsc1955 I think it's possible to enjoy one genre of music without dissing another. Comparing these two are like apples and oranges. This music is for fans of a different generation and socio-economic status, while hip hop and rap speaks to an entirely different group of people, a younger generation, with much different experiences. Peace.

@@Arali69yep, love this... I am also biased toward rap, my son in his youth was a Gospel rapper.... What beautiful words he used to perform, formed a trio with two other guys, called themselves JCRAP - (Jesus Christ Radical African Prophets).... Rap is not all bad for goodness sake!

@@wsc1955you get rap, and then you get good rap - my son in his youth was a Gospel Rapper - powerful words, good beat, blessed many young lives his age... Today he is known as The Traveller, a guitar Maestro with a beautiful voice, does many gigs.... Just saying... Don't tar everyone with the same brush... I agree with you though that unfortunately Rap is often used for stuff for the "brain dead"! SAD.....

@DrLumpy 2 ай бұрын
@@wsc1955 People who enjoyed swing in the 40s considered the music of the previous generation(s) to be crap. Until about the 1300s, people were excommunicated and/or burned at the stake for listening to music that contained notes other than unisons or octaves. In 1966 people burned Beatles records in public because John said "The Beatles are more popular than Jesus". Kids today consider "Oldies" to be music from 18 months ago. One thing about that darn music...It brings out the best in humans..🙂
