No one that works on vehicles is ever going to be poor, the biggest problem that I am having and many are is finding a place to work on cars

So you can't afford to buy a place where you can work on cars? Interesting... Almost as if project cars are keeping you poor 🤔

@YourFriendlyHoodVampire I just do them on the street and save me the money, unless I you're planning to go commercial is not worth getting a shop, they rent for around 3k a month in my area. I'll see if I can find a place with a garage this year

You're the first person I've come across to address this. One more thing to consider...I can't help but wonder when the day will come that modifying cars will die off altogether. I enjoy working on 90's cars/trucks as they are relatively easy to work on. But as the cars get newer, they get more difficult to work on. And these days, new cars are near impossible to work on as a casual hobbyist. Some day all the older vehicles will rust away into dust, as will this hobby. It's just a matter of when. Happy New Year!

I think having a few good reliable cars is a good thing. I do pretty good at my job... Well over average. My newest car is 2011. I do my own work on most of my cars. During winter late fall, and winter. I cut my insurance. I save a lot of money that way. It might not be the cool thing to do. But, I have more money to put away on assets. I will never buy a new car. I might lease one. New cars are liabilities. My old, good running cars are assets.

And the economy is just going to get worse. Car parts and everything else are going to be more expensive.

Definitely is going to be a mess - probably will take many years to equalize - lets see if we all survive

I thought of this aswell. But what would you do with that money? Yea a nice house and a shit EV maybe... but never understanding how things work and just using them as a consumer is a disrespect for the unstretched human mind.

I picked up mine at just the right time and I also live in rural Nebraska a pretty low COL area - around here you can probably still get that. The house across the street with a small garage just rented at 1300 - higher COL area I'd be SOL

if youre are worried about money building or having a project car, then maybe you shouldnt have one. youre priorities are skewed.

Mostly a correct statement - even if you have plenty of disposable income, you still need to budget your build or it could spiral out of control
