The bowling ball and axe are your best friend. The axe can kill a lot of things and save mom, the bowling ball can help you get things that you couldn’t get before, and can open a secret room in the boarded up room, the contents in there can help save sister. But saving them isn’t always the best thing to do. Perhaps the opposite is better?

The slingshot is used to break the chandelier before the sister comes. Break the toilet with the axe, pour bucket of water on the tiny candle light on the chandelier before it lights the piano on fire
