@@MommyNeedsAMinute A garden past it’s “blooming stage” may stop having most flowers and plants due to lack of “specific nutrients” in the soil however some plants who able to withstand such environments still are able to “thrive and grow” come the next Spring and become a ecosystem for other types of life . To be more direct, the hormonal changes from menopause can affect sex drive, but that change can sometimes be an increase rather than a decrease! On a more psychological level, knowing that you're not at risk of an unplanned pregnancy can reduce anxiety around sex, and that anxiety could have been reducing sex drive, so losing that anxiety could cause an increase. If you had been previously using hormonal birth control, coming off of that (since you don't need it any more) can affect sex drive as well. And for people with painful periods, that pain can obviously put you out of the mood, so losing your periods can be a benefit in that sense. On a practical level, around the age menopause usually hits, if you're a parent, you're likely getting to a point where your kids are in their teens or even adults. So, you might have increased opportunities for quality time with a partner, compared to when kids are younger and require a lot of supervision. There's a TON of reasons many people experience an increased interest in sex after menopause! True, some people experience reduced sex drive, but it can really go either way. Society is just really uncomfortable thinking about older women as sexual beings, so we don't really talk or think about it often.

Keep writing! Attend workshops! Attend conferences. Get a degree in some type of writing if you’re inclined. Otherwise just attend those things to edify yourself and hone your craft. Or if you’re in media, apply for production internships. That gets you in TV land. Screenwriters are in LA generally. That’s where TV is made. So I think it makes sense to get in those communities. Or apply for writer’s fellowships where you meet other writers and build connections. Or both! Both would help you get your foot in the door and gain experience. Who knows where you’ll end up?
