When you really think about it, Kaai Yuki is sort of like a canned memory , a recording of a voice that belonged to someone who has long since grown out of it. This echo from the past, constantly warping and being replayed and morphed by producers, is sort of like a ghost; it is never the original, only a remnant. I think having this vocaloid sing a song about the deep sadness that comes with nostalgia, of knowing things can't be what they once were, of recalling fun without being able to return to it, is very poetic. Neither a memory nor a vocal synth (especially one that is difficult to update as the voice provider grows older and it won't be the same voice) can develop and grow, it can only be altered to fit a new context, a new song. I just think it's cool, when you really think about it, that an unreachable voice from the past is singing about that past which is unreachable. It gives me chills to think about.

Recently discovered inabakumori, and you know what I love about 'em? The melancholy side of the songs is poignant, but it doesn't serve to make you miserable. Rather, to add to the style and charm of it all. This is my favorite song - I think it's the most charming and fun even over Lagtrain, which I was introduced with. But damn, what a cool body of work!
