This is all pretty normal stuff for abuse victims. Often victims will beg to stay with their abuser for months after the abuse due to them being gaslit by the abuser into thinking the abuse was normal or done out of love, etc. Obviously we cant make a definite call that shes telling the truth, but we also cant say shes lying for sure either. also As a woman, no, I do not tell people I shower so they can hit on me unless its someone I'm already dating. i tell people i'm gonna shower because... i'm gonna shower. Looking into it more is just creepy.

I think this is fair to an extent. However, a good support system tends to be beneficial to individuals who are suffering from debilitating mental health problems. Sometimes those who are hurt could really use a hand to help pick them back up, which is why it’s important to communicate. When it comes to the point where they’re relying on people as a lifetime crutch, that’s definitely a problem at best and something that can become dangerous or extremely toxic at worst. Co-dependency is such an easy habit to fall into but a hard one to come out of if you get in too deep. It ends up causing unneeded hurt and pain for everyone involved. Boundaries are so SO crucial in just about every relationship and I don’t think it’s hurtful to set them for when something seems to be too much for your S/O. But there’s a big difference in this and seemingly making a deliberate effort to make things worse, which seems to be the route that Alex takes when he has a “partner” in his life. They call it a “partnership” for a reason. Constantly making demands while hurling abuse at them when they don’t perform like a puppet for you is just disgusting, no matter what they asked from him.

I’m not very far into the video yet but I would like to say that I appreciate the way you’re covering this situation. Hearing what his victims had to go through is hard to stomach. No doubt in my mind, it’s much harder to be actually having lived through it. My heart goes out for these people and I hope they find solace in telling their experiences if it has helped them heal even if a little bit. However, the information feels a little less horrible to digest when a conversation is started. It feels balanced in a sense to take a listen into what sounds like a relatively healthy relationship between you and your wife when comparing it to these “relationships” Alex had with his past “partners”-(blatant victims)- It gives me hope that if there’s anybody who may be going through similar (to those who were with Alex) will feel encouraged to leave their situation and know that they deserve better. Maybe some of the advice can even make someone’s already good relationship even better. Thank you for covering this, Papa Gut. I didn’t really know much about your content until now, but I think I’ll be sticking around to hear what you have to say about other situations in the future too.
