Since the vegan teacher completely incorrectly define ableism, here's what ableism actually is: discrimination against disabled people Taking an egg from a chicken is not ableism It's not even fecking close

Okay, I'm not one to say words that rude in public, because there are scenarios where you get banned for saying less. However, it's not a bad idea that we shouldn't ban words. People mistake niggardly (Being terrible with money or greedy) with the actual N-word. And not long ago on Apex legends, one player was banned for typing Nigero in the chat, Japanese for "Take cover." The argument she was making was all well and good. The only problem it seems to be in this scenario, is that she was the one stating it.

"Somebody stole an egg from a chicken. It's not right to steal." I don't have chickens, but I do have some experience with parrots. I've seen them actively choose to lay (unfertilized) eggs from perches halfway up the cage, seemingly just to watch them splatter, and I've seen one lay an (again unfertilized) egg in the corner of the cage, ignore said egg, and instead stick a wiffle ball in the food dish and try to hatch the wiffle ball. Even regurgitated a bit of food for it, because birds are deeply weird. Friend of mine was extremely surprised when her parrot momentarily paused, laid an egg right on said friend's chest like a 'Cleveland Steamer' (her words), and then just continued on like nothing happened. I don't think birds are as emotionally invested in their unfertilized eggs as this lady seems to think they are.
@anib88633 жыл бұрын
Unfertilized eggs are literally periods, they don't care what happens to them.
@kodiakulv51483 жыл бұрын
Okay I've worked on a ranch, I've watched chickens lay an egg (fertilized), immediately turn face, peck it open and eat it, they do this quite often. I've watched chickens tear each other into pieces and kill each other for literally no reason other than one chicken was moving too quickly in another chicken's sightline. They work strictly on primal reactions, they don't think cause/effect. They think act or die, doesn't matter what the action is. They don't have the capacity to "reason" what occurs after the initial reaction, their brain resets for the next action to react to. They don't have after thoughts about what they've done.

Not everybody can be vegan. My daughter has an eating disorder and she used becoming vegetarian and then vegan to cut out entire food groups and, as someone who had always eaten everything, really struggled to get enough iron and protein into her diet because eating enough meat replacement products was so much more food than eating a bit of meat. This woman annoys me so much. She probably hasn't almost lost a child to AN 3 times because of such restricted and disordered eating. She comes across as holier than thou and, with her words, completely invalidates the experiences of people who have been marginalised, disadvantaged and discriminated against by comparing them to pieces of meat.
@leahstrachan25323 жыл бұрын
Its also so scary how a reason to 'convert' is weight loss , by pushing that its an easy ticket to drop weight it opens up young people to a really restrictive diet and enforces that there are 'bad' foods that you 'should' feel guilty for eating which is so harmful and its actually terrifying how much eating disorder culture and this type of push for veganism overlap because its so dangerous but she cares more for proving a point than hurting the people who worship her

There are no food groups that you can't get in a plant-based diet. You seem to be talking about specific 'types' of food (although I wouldn't call AP's food). Her having an eating disorder would have been more the reason that she was not getting enough nutrients- not the fact the she was plant based. Their are athletes and body builders who are vegan/ plant based. It's more than possible to be healthy, and I'd argue healthier than on a carnist diet. I disagree- I think everone can be vegan. To be vegan is to avoid animal products as far as is practicable and possible. Theres only a small percentage of people who can't avoid AP's. Like if you have to rely on a soup kitchen that doesnt have vegan potions, or you live in some remote area where it's very tricky to get hold of plant based resources (I'm talking like small tribes/ communities here)- and such situations, as long as you are doing your best, you can still use AP's and bec onidered vegan. I do empathise with ED situation though. I know it is common for people to eat plant based for reasons fueled by ED mentality.

Not to mention the fact that leaving unfertilized eggs in a coop tends to lead to egg-eaters. Which isn't necessarily all that bad, but does lead to most of the chickens gaining a tendency to snack on them, fertilized or not, and then an eventual decimation of the entire coop as they fight over them. Looses the egg and already living birds. Not a great look for her argument.

I love her shirt of "plants don't feel pain" because there's literally a study about plants showing what appears to be something akin to pain (we just don't know for sure because plants can't say "that hurts" - but plants that react to stimuli like getting cut will not react if you give them pain medicine first).

Also also, I cannot imagine that a middle-aged lady could possibly know who TommyInnit is and NOT know who Dream is. I imagine she found both via the trending page. She clearly finds people who are super popular to leech on to in order to help promote her agenda.

Hey wait a minute - I think her sweater might be wrong; I think there are actually plant species that we've learned respond in some way akin to feeling pain. Off the top of my head, I heard grass apparently secretes some kind of pheromone to indicate alarm when it gets cut.

my favorite line to say whenever somebody uses the freedom of speech argument is “freedom of speech is not freedom from consequences.” don’t know where i picked it up but it’s always helped me :>

Freedom of speech is freedom of legal consequences for all speech, including hate speech.

It is the duty of society aka the people to provide consequences not the government.

When she uses the banana as a phone, it kinda gave me Jeffers Strawberry vibes from Stain Drawerson's video on him. That whole, "talking to the big fella in the sky" thing is pretty similar.
