When I “came out” as bisexual in high school, my parents bullied me into a suicide attempt. When I “came out” as vegetarian in 8th grade, my parents who didn’t support it simply made me cook my own meals if I wanted to not eat what they made. I hate militant vegans because they are all “innocent living things” like plants aren’t also alive, slavery still impacts agriculture, and some people are too poor or have health conditions to be vegan, but ok. Yes, the behavior in the meat industry needs to be addressed but someone being vegan or not doesn’t make them superior to anyone else. These type of vegans have the same energy as the people who put meat in my school lunch when I was vegetarian. If she were truly happy being vegan, she wouldn’t be so full of hatred and would be providing education if people wanted to listen, without berating everyone who isn’t vegan yet

However, I agree forcing someone to be vegan is abuse and literally, it doesn't work. But the vegan diet and non-vegan diet have their own upsides and downsides. Some people choose to become vegan because they don't want to become antibiotic resistance, and also aware of how much hormone they inject to animals to grow them faster. Some diseases spread due to the consumption of meat( it was alleged that covid 19 also spread through consumption of meat of bat but it is not proven and there are many theories about the origin of the virus)

Also, I hate when vegans (and sometimes vegetarians, but much more rarely) lump in local farms and ranches in with the meat industry. I live less than half an hour away from a local ranching community, and I work there during the summer pulling weeds. They treat their livestock fantastically, and buying their products is supporting the good treatment and health of their livestock. TLDR; if you’re going to buy meat, eggs, leather, or dairy products, do your best to buy locally. It’s much more ethical and supports independent business.

I'm pretty sure that's not the case. Trees don't have brains or anything remotely similar. The thing is, though, that trees don't _need_ to feel pain to react to things that are bad for them. I like to think of tree behavior as a beautifully complex set of reactions shaped entirely by natural selection. Unlike animals, which need to learn about the world through sensations like pain and pleasure, trees already know what to do. The ability to react appropriately to so many different situations without any level of consciousness makes trees (and all other plants) incredible in their own way.

Vegan propoganda is big on gore-porn. Forcing a bunch of horrific, graphic, violent imagery on the audience as a way of traumatizing them into giving up meat. We have a group of vegan activists who, before Covid, would march down to the local shopping center/park, wear flesh colored/nude suits, and animal masks, hold signs that had buzzwords typical to veganism, and holding tvs that played violent animal abuse videos in an attempt to guilt folks into veganism.

As a vegan the “Vegan” teacher literally ruins our reputation so bad. Like you said some people cannot afford to go vegan. I’ve been vegetarian for 8 years now but only vegan for 6 months now since I used to live with my parents and we couldn’t afford it. But also if you ask a lot of vegetarians/vegans theyre switch actually stems from eating disorders. I agree she is horrible. My partner was actually vegetarian for a long while because his stomach had trouble digesting meat and some animal products. Now though he can eat birds and fish at times but can't eat red meat. He had to pick his food out at the store himself because his parents kept forgetting about him and would make food with meat in it anyways. As an aromantic and asexual this makes me especially mad because first the heterosexual people tell me I’m not normal and I belong in the LGBTQ+ community and then the lgbtq+ community tells me I don’t belong there, so I have nowhere to go and this teacher just blames it all on me not being vegan
