My "friend" was 22, and he dumped my roommate for a 15yro girl. Apparently he had been in contact with her sense she was 12yrso. I dropped him, reported him to the police, the parents of the child, and to Department of Human Services. When nothing happened I reported the parents to child protective services for neglect.

Wow that is awful. Incredibly disappointing & sad that they apparently did not take the situation seriously & try to protect that child. Not surprised, unfortunately, just very disappointed. I hope eventually somebody did something about it, & I commend you for at least trying your very best with the resources you had access to.

Honestly, when I hear youtubers say “anyone I’ve offended” or “I’m sorry if I’ve offended you” it feels disingenuous. It feels like they don’t actually know the impact of their actions or they think that they didn’t actually do something wrong. If they said “everyone I’ve offended” and “I’m sorry I offended you”. That feels way more genuine
@cicelyamelia

No in my opinion its better to say “im sorry uf my actions have affected you in any way” or something similar, bc most of the times its not just offending but uts somethings that can affect someone’s wellbeing or life, not just “ooh i didnt like what u said” but “you said something that makes me relive trauma” or like “you did something that will scar me for the rest of my life and you hurt me” u know?
@connyaaaa5555
@connyaaaa5555 3 жыл бұрын
@@Jjealous well, if someone is making an apology, that’s because they’ve hurt/offended someone, probably a lot of people, it’s certainly that they’ve offended someone so the “if” shouldn’t be there. It’s not a question of if they offended someone, they did. They should own up to it
@kunilsen2519
@kunilsen2519 3 жыл бұрын
I generally feel the opposite. "I'm sorry I offended you" feels to me more like "I'm sorry you are offended" and that feels like you are not sorry. More like, "too bad you feel like that" kinda sorry. I like it more when they say "if I’ve offended you” or “anyone I’ve offended” as it feels like (to me) that your actions were not meant to offend. So "if you were offended then that was not meant on purpose" kinda sorry. But this is just me, and I also think it depends greatly on the context and how and why they are apologizing. Both can sound awful or alright depending I think.

So true. Like everybody else in this comment thread I experienced this myself. From the age of 12 to 17 I had older men constantly aggressively hitting on me & speaking to me in a sexual way, or worse getting handsy with me. Like not just online where they could hide behind a screen but even in person they felt comfortable doing & saying these disgusting things. The age ranges of these men was from 19 (when I was around 15) all the way up to a couple of them literally being old enough to be my grandfather (when I was 12! then again several times when I was 14/15)! So disgusting & disturbing. We really need to try harder to inform teens about this & how to handle these types of situations cause unfortunately it happens far too often. We need to teach teens that it's ok to speak up about these things as well & not feel shame about it so that maybe we can get some legal consequences for these creeps so maybe it will at the very least happen less (Preferably not at all but you know how creeps are). Really wish this was not something that was normalized.

Especially since Tati used homophobic rhetoric (portraying him as someone who "tricks" guys into becoming gay), and lied about the waiter being straight. How do anyone find this surprising tbh? As I remarked here that bore out only for him to say that because the crazes are different bionica get one as making one is not that one he did in the other one was rumor and innuendo placed upon him. Remember the initial charges that were fraud were based on his being sexually harassing and sexually going after straight boys. Against their will without consent right? Which is vastly different from someone that can't give consent only because of their age because these boys were gay right that's what they say themselves correct? I'm not standing up for him or saying you did anything right or saying that you can do wrong I'm saying that when we conflate the two and put them together and make it issue to point out how they're different that's when that rumor and innuendo I was talking about that's when it hurts people. That's when also became actually because at that point it's slander Corfu rated label you know that thing about the said that saying if you don't have anything good to say don't say it at all or if you're more what you're more with it come sit by me.. None of those are shouting at the top of your lungs there's a reason why some things aren't said loudly and with a flavor of being truthful when they're based on opinion and conjecture. There no reason for you to feel bad though? You were in the right to do that back then as there was not enough reason or evidence to be against him back then. Take it from someone who used to believe in him and side with him as well. Sometimes you just don't know, but don't feel bad. Well.. as long as you didn't aggressively attack others who were on the other side back then. Even if you are sure about something, never get too aggressive when defending your standpoint. I think all of this points to the wider problem of very young people being so easily exposed to sexualised content in general. It really does open the door to these kinds of issues, because it’s almost accepted as “normal” by younger people because they are so used to seeing people being objectified. This is in no way excusing the actions of people behaving this way, it’s completely gross and unacceptable, it’s just it’s making it easier for them to get away with it.

I think that internet people dont go to jail very often is because of two reasons: 1. They are rarely get sent to the police and the internets the jury on whether someone is innocent or guilty, has a platform or not. 2. Most people often over country lines and over the internet (not in person) which is where the law gets mucky especially with noncey people (ages of consent ect)

Ay, mad respect to you for having that ad at the end all the way after your outtro. But wouldn't it be better to have that ad right before your outtro since most people would click off by then? I mean, granted, your outro is very pretty and I personally like it, but when you see the same thing a hundred times you're bound to skip it, ya know..? 😂 Just trynna help out. I personally don't make money off KZbin so maybe I'm just missing something, but I'm guessing it might be best to put the ad right before the outtro. None the less, keep up the great work and keep being yourself homie..! ✌️

Uhm excuse me? What James did is absolutely a crime and I’m not defending him, but what Lori did was way worse. It’s not just paying your kids way into a school, it’s robbing a scholarship from some innocent kid who spent their entire childhood dedicated to getting into a certain school. Some teen somewhere lost their spot on the rowing team (which was probably their only chance to attend the school) all because some spoiled kids mommy wanted them to go there even though they didn’t want to attend school in the first place. What James did is wrong, but don’t belittle her situation like that.

@@aki9059 it's just an opinion, and it's probably because this kind of thing is normalized. I think they're incomparable crimes. They're both the same kind of awful, in different ways. You can't compare a child molester to a robber. But that's just my opinion.

I believe that when James was apologizing on insta, instead of talking about the problem with him talking to minors, he tried to put the spotlight on a girl that's suing him. He didnt want alot of attention on him. Also how can you say you didnt know their age, when they told you, and you kept talking to them? That wasn't an accident or sum.

this perspective is useful, but raises a few questions. You saw a person treat another person badly, , , and then told yourself 1, it didn't happen 2, that you would evade such treatment, , , by continuing to friends with them??? Did u think they deserved such a treatment or did u think you were above it??? Either way, you need to examine that inclination to dismiss

Been there, hope your shoulder improves soon! You never realize just how much your shoulder moves until something like that happens; it was very close to the shoulder blade with me, and I ended up regarding “wearing a triple-layer, steel-boned, full-on corset every day through all the worst of Georgia’s late spring and summer heat” as the best idea I ever had, as it was the only thing that relieved the pain *and* still allowed me to go to work every day.
