@@Jacob1451_Kapnobatai it got out of place post Freeza, but you can clearly see that Namek saga was supposed to be the climax of the series and its final arc by how characters (specially Goku) flex how hard they've come since they started training in martial arts (you see Goku reading minds, flying around the planet in seconds, many characters making things levitate and blow up stuff by looking at them too hard, and there's quite a lot of emphasis on Goku being weaker on his base form than Freeza, but managing to put up an impressive fight solely out of guts, discipline and strategy, most of the abilities displayed on this arc would never come back, as to try and maintain the feel that Goku and his friends still had a long way to go despite everything)

Actually there is a true reason behind the revival of Frieza in Super/movie. Akira wanted Frieza's death to be permanent, however the majority of Japanese audiences/fans of Dragon Ball franchise prefer Frieza more than Cell, thus he was brought back in the anime. Whereas the western audiences adore Cell.

So did I. I think Bardock found a lot more catharsis than in the original TV special when he sees that the "pathetically hopeless pipsqueak" with a power level of only 2 faces off against Frieza. And not only that, but said pipsqueak also becomes the legendary Super Saiyan _and not the Saiyan prince._ It's a shame that him having that particular vision didn't happen in the actual special.

Bardock did good to stand against Frieza but at the same time I believe this version of bardock hastened the Saiyan's demise when he single handedly decimated half of the Frieza force by himself. Frieza even said his troops were trained to the brink of death by his best soldiers yet Bardock casually plowed through them.

one of the most crazy things is that bardock is basically going through the entire frieza force elite forces and obliterating all of them since we know that the vast mayority of frieza soldiers cant even fly or fire ki on their own they need special blasters so the guys that can fly and fire ki blasts are pretty decently strong by frieza's army standards and bardock here kills hundreds (including in the case of this game defeating dodorian) of course everyone is nothing compared to frieza

I like the re edit of this story line. Zarbon and didoria actually looked like they felt bad for the sayians. They may have been talking shit about it, but in the end it showed that they actually had some form of compassion for their comrades no matter who they were

Also, keep in mind that not only Saiyans but personnel (soldiers, scientists, etc) of other races from Frieza's army were in planet Vegeta when he destroyed it with that Supernova. It tells a lot of how fearful Frieza was at that time that he didn't mind to deal that amount of collateral damage to his own forces when, in other circumstances, he acts as a strict but somewhat fair boss (as long as his minions get the job done).

I love the DLC but I still don't like they had frieza talk to bardock unlike in the original special where he didn't talk to him at all and just ended bardock right then and there. Gives the whole fact that he doesn't actually matter about him or the race itself. But the special itself shows redemption within a character who is born in a race filled of conquerors and killers. I mean hell his special stared with him conquering a planet meaning he wasn't a good guy but by the end his actions become justifiable to actually like the character for who he is.

In terms of both the story of Trunks, aswell as the story of Bardock, DBZ: Kakarot will forever go down as the definitive version to experience these stories. They did both Bardock and especially future Gohan good. Real good. Giving both an actual flashy last stand All in all, I just hope we'll get to see more of their masterfullx crafted art in the future

My man bardock became strong enough to hold back a suppressed frieza beam, and could fight back dodoria, at least we know after his zenkai he was past the near 10,000 he was placed at before. Him going great ape would put him at least around 221k power level

Great ape is a 10x multiplier, so Bardock would've had a power level of a hundred thousand.

@@cameronballz6154 considering he didn’t die instsntly from dodoria, post zenkai he should probably have atleast 23,000 power level when against dodoria, then grew enough to harm suppressed frieza, which not even nail at 42,000 could do, then could blow back a suppressed beam (this is due to saiyans ability to adapt mid fight, and he’s shown a LOT in the series to be VERY good at this) but is obviously weaker than 1,000,000 (double friezas, since frieza used a blast which concentrates his power) so bardock is probably at maybe 60k here at least right before he dies.

@SarkasmaTV Technically he was the strongest saiyan at that moment as the only other strong saiyans were vegeta and his father and prince vegeta was around 16,000 as his base was around 18,000 when he went to earth.

I'm still kinda bummed we got no Super Saiyan Bardock in this dlc. I know it's not canon, but uh Neither was this version of Bardock.
