I have one of those BTR stools. Not super comfortable, but they are definitely lightweight and fast and easy to deploy.

Very nice video. You do an exceptional job at this. The best food I've had on a trek was on the Inca Trail. The worst was Mt. Kilimanjaro. I look forward to watching more of your videos.

Hey Rob! What an incredible journey! I'm really impressed by the service that your guides provide. I'm sure it is worth every penny. I imagine that altitude is pretty rough to deal with. Machu Picchu looks like a great bucket list item. Thanks for sharing!

All said and done, the cost wasn’t astronomical. Worth it for sure. The porters and guides are so good at they they do. It’s damn impressive. Add it to your list! Thanks for watching. Cheers.

Epic shit man 😎 That’s a place I’ll probably never go but it’s so cool! I’m glad you went and did these videos! Did a damn good job! Made me feel like I was there! I think the most shocking thing about the whole trip is the great camping production with Frank and the cooks and all the others…makes it an even better experience! Looking forward to part 2 now! 🤘🏼

I’m very excited for you! It was an epic journey. Just take your time and hike your own hike. It’s not a race. Once day 2 is done, you’re good to go. I find it’s more mental than physical. You for this. Enjoy all of it. The highs and the lows. Thanks for watching!

So glad to have come across your video. How many hours did it take (walking time) to complete day 1 and day 2 & did you find it difficult to go down hill with the broken hiking pole? I guess winter has just started so its not that cold. Thanks.
@robpelton Жыл бұрын
Hello Hiral! The hike is 5-6 hours a day. This, of course, depends on your speed. I, personally, didn’t have trouble going downhill. I ended up not using any hiking pole after the one broke. I do know the hiking poles help immensely if you have knee issues. I’m fortunate enough to be healthy in that regard. The temperature was perfect. A little cool at night and morning, but perfect for me. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching!

Great video. What kind of hiking gear do the porters use? Anything in particular you notice? It’s ironic that you’re wearing alpaca, native to their region, but looks like they’ve got synthetic stuff on. I can’t tell what they got under their jackets. Or what shoes/socks they use. Any of them use ponchos?
@robpelton Жыл бұрын
The porters wore synthetic base layers and jackets. Mainly because of durability. Alpaca, being superior in many ways, just isn’t durable for the work these guys are doing. Socks are wool. Boots are basic high top hiking boots. Although, many porters prefer sandals and use their allotted boot $ for other things. Thanks for watching!

Awesome vid man! Just wondering what your experience was like with doing the walk in trekking shoes rather than hiking boots as it seems most people wear. And would the walk be doable in running shoes?
@robpelton Жыл бұрын
My shoes are trail runners. Very doable. The trail is very packed down and even. If you were carrying a heavy pack, I’d say boots would be good, but all I had were basic days stuff. The trip was tough, but epic. Thanks for watching!
