I loved that George was so funny he had the audience in the palm of his hand within 3 minutes or so. That self-deprecating type of humour was such an attractive quality in him.

There was no audience here. All the applause and laughter was recorded and played at will.

What a modest man I had the privilege of knowing him long before the fame when we both lived in Bushey and drank in the pub the Horse & Chains in Bushey. Very sad end for someone so talented and perhaps more importantly, was his kindness and philanthropy that only came to light after he had passed. The world needs more kind people, like George. RIP

As a 40-something heterosexual man, I love(d) George with every fiber of my being. It's desperately sad that he died so young. I will be playing his music until my last breath.

His voice always makes me melt into a little puddle by my chair. He was looking his absolute best here, too. I will NEVER understand how he could have so many hang-ups that they literally killed him. Will never not love you, George :D

"very large these Greek families" - funny and charming in his words. What is amazing is that GM took hold of that interview right at the start - the audience melted. Brilliant. The whole interview is simply wonderful - honest, funny, great storytelling from a wonderful generous sensitive soul. I read that this interview pretty much killed all the insane media attention on his arrest and they stopped hounding him about it - I mean, who wouldn't like this man given his self-awareness, humor and overall adorableness - especially in this interview. He must have floated off after this interview - it was flawless, his humor, wit, timing, anecdotes - great storyteller in every medium.

His talking about losing his mother and partner is also cut out. I hate when they do that
@WillScarlet19919 ай бұрын
@@peteandurnot Nope. This was the full interview (minus the 2 songs). You must have imagined George talking in detail about his mother and partner.

@WillScarlet1991 no I didn't, it was repeated on TV recently so no, I didn't imagine it and this is not the complete interview.
@WillScarlet19919 ай бұрын
@@peteandurnot Well that's interesting. Thanks. I wasn't aware of that. Btw, all other uploads of the same interview are exactly the same. Very strange.

The full unedited 'Parkinson' interview (which also includes his live performances of both 'A Different Corner' and 'Outside') is used as a bonus feature on the DVD version of his 1998 compilation 'Ladies And Gentlemen: The Best Of''.
