Wow, wow, wow! Families (including mine), brush SO much under the rug. There are so many children in my family who have been sexually victimized by other family members. Some of them (including myself) have come forward with our stories, only to become the Black sheep because “What happens in this house stays in this house.” Family reputation and religion makes them want to force you into silence. I tell everybody if this person didn’t want me to talk, they shouldn’t have did what they did. How is it that the victim has to walk on eggshells and the perpetrator is STILL invited to family functions? The Black sheep is really the mfn goat. I no longer associate myself because right is right and wrong is wrong. I respect, appreciate, and empathize with your story. Thank you for speaking up, no matter HOW much time went by. I pray for your healing and restoration of your heart. I have an episode on Incest in Black Families on my Podcast. “AirItTFOut Podcast”. Follow me for generational healing.

Well said queen smoke it’s very sad and I’m sure it’s very hard and embarrassing for people to talk about this situation. I belive him opening up about it will really help some people. Suppressing those memories is never good everyone going through what he went through needs someone to talk to to heal I belive. When your kids you don’t really know what your really doing is wrong till you get older I guess…… very sad but if parents arnt involved with there kids and never around I can see how this stuff happens.

My whole family has been victims and perpetrators of sexual abuse. It’s been swept under the rug. No body talks about it or gets help. It’s weird showing up for a family function being around your molesters and everyone is acting like nothing. But from my point of view this has led to low self esteem, mental problems, and addictions. Every one is an alcoholic. I didn’t know families got together without alcohol. The first time I went to a family function where they didn’t have alcohol but every one was enjoying themselves I was astonished, didn’t know people lived without alcohol. Hardly no one works in my family. My grandma had 8 kids. Nobody finished school. It was party party party. She was too busy being friends with her kids. My aunts were having babies in their early teens like13 and 15. They all get government assistance and are in toxic relationships. No one has accomplished anything in life but having babies they’re not mentally, physically, or financially able to take care of. It was a bad kept secret that my grandmother husband was sleeping with my mom his step daughter. Cousins sleeping with cousins. The whole nine. Every one thought I was lucky because I was my grandmother favorite so I was always at her house. Her sons who were mentally delayed and had most likely been molested were molesting me constantly. Out of shame I didn’t say nothing. If I wasn’t being molested I was ignored. This set me up to think letting a man have his way with my body was love. I can say it’s about the same for all the women in my family because of this ongoing sexual abuse. I had a baby by a man who just saw me as sex and left me to raise a child on my own at 18. Luckily I pushed myself to get educated finish school and be the best parent I could. I’m 44 , I have 2 sons they’re grown. I’m single because I attract toxic men because I’m still not healed from my past. I’m self aware and would rather be alone then continue abuse to be fake loved. I a work in progress. From the sideline I watch the women in my family get abused and have kids they don’t need. I have so many relatives in the foster care system. My siblings and I grew up in foster care. Every one is still just going through life not understanding or realizing why the whole family is dysfunctional and addicts. My aunt who I recently cut off like I had to most of my family including my mom because they’re toxic. They done buried sexual trauma so deep that they’re just on a mission to hurt others like they hurt. Back to this aunt. She has a grandson she gets every weekend. She works overnight and leaves him in bed with her boyfriend. Nobody sees a problem with this. She’s a victim of sexual abuse and she’s cool with this. Everyones like oh he wouldn’t do anything to that kid. Ok I’ll guess will just wait and find out. The boy is 9 and think twerking and watching makeup tutorial on KZbin is life. He’s very feminine but everyone is once again looking the other way. As for myself I stay away because I’m not about to drink my life away in denial with these people. I’m breaking generational cursed over here💯

🫶🏿GodBlessYouAndYourStory🫶🏻 your strong character and sport bleeds through these words heavy, i couldn’t imagine something like this… i’ve held anger in my heart about my mothers rape that i found out about at an early age….. it was a very violent and published thing in my town at the time because he was a serial rapist and murderer ….. held a machete too her all night and came through her window… being over, protective in my life, has caused a lot of my relationships with the women I’ve come into terms with in my life, sometimes more negatively than positively but at the same time you can probably just imagine how traditional I am & protective of the women that are close to me not to mention a significant other(single of course) … so again i say your something special for overcoming and rising above too change it all and do diff.✌️❤

This happened in my family too. This is why I get so disgusted with how the black community constantly attack and throw away our gay family members but will protect or ignore the boyfriend, girlfriend, uncles, fathers, mothers, sisters, brothers who commit incest and molestation. A friend of mine learned that his 15 year son was having relations with his almost 40 year old girlfriend for 2 years, which means that she started having relations with him at 13 and both my friend and his son, would come up with all kinds of reasons to not call her a sexual predator. The hypocrisy is insane and sickening!

@@ksoulfinder1776 The church is definitely indirectly condemning it. What made me realize this is when I heard a Muslim man from a Muslim country openly admit to molesting little boys. His reason is that the Koran doesn't not condemn it. Not one major religion stays aggressively condemning child molestation nor r@pe for that matter, like they do homosexuality and I believe this why most people seem less bothered by neither. It's a disgrace!

@@igotyourback9175 and what evidence do you have to support your claims ? You’re making statements that are mere opinions based off your experience and trying to pass them off as facts and act like the black community is just soooo terrible and that no other communities are doing the same things. I don’t see the black community performing honor killings? I don’t see the black community beheading their lgbt ? You really need to research what other cultures and communities are doing. I can tell you’re very misguided. I’m not “more bothered” but anything. I’m just simply pointing out that the black community isn’t the only community that does this. Go talk to members of the Latin community, Arab, etc. Pedophilia and incest exists in ALL communities you just don’t hear about it. Why? BC THEY SWEEP IT UNDER THE RUG ! This isn’t more of a black people thing stop being small minded.

@@sodamncutestud2 This is why we can't get anything done. Every time we point out an issue, y'all start deflecting and talking about what other races and communities are doing. You sound like a hit dog hollering! The main ones who deny these things, are guilty of them! Sort of like those who push the 'no snitching policy' in the black community are the ones who are terrorizing the community and committing the crimes. The 'no snitching' policy is pushed by 'them' to protect 'them' and 'their crimes!' The black community is in total disarray! Don't tell me that molestation and rape and underaged girls getting pregnant by adult males isn't a big problem! Don't tell me that incest and rape isn't a real problem, especially with black girls. Just ask the average black female if she's ever been molested or raped and I promise you that every other one will say that they have! Don't tell me black people aren't killing each other over the dumbest things! Don't tell me that the average black family is headed by single mothers! WE ALL KNOW IT! Like I said, no matter what other races and communities are doing, they are still outperforming us by and large. So please leave what other races are doing out of this. It's our JOB to deal with our own and FIX our own but people like you would rather deflect and ignore, which makes you just as much as part of the problem!

Wayne mentioned something that I really wish Mark would have asked more about. He said he stopped having sex with his sister (and other relatives) because he knew it was wrong. How did he know it was wrong? Did he hear that, talk to someone about it? The incest was horrible enough, but he had a conscience, which made the effects more devastating. I feel terribly for Wayne. Immediately I am reminded of R Kelly's brother talking about how their older sister did the same to them....mom always away from the house working & big sister in charge & sexual abuse started young! This is by no means an excuse for what R Kelly did as an adult - However, it definitely speaks to where his deviant behavior most likely began & in that way he, too is a victim! Sooo much goes on behind closed doors as so many shared stories on SWU have told us as well as Sooo many shared stories here in the comments section. Generational trauma & unbroken patterns continue to pain & shame our fellow humans in this way - it is completely Overwhelming & shattering to the soul!!!! It happens in “normal” two parent households too. Middle class Roman Catholic family, dad worked mom stayed at home with me. My 16 year old brother began sexually assaulting me when I was 4. He was 21 when he did the same to our 5 year old cousin who’d just had her leg amputated due to cancer. I believe the trauma has caused a Pandora’s box of illnesses to surface. At 42, I’m trying to therapy myself and come to terms with my trauma. Therapy myself cause my cancer diagnosis in 2018 wiped my savings and disabled me. I finally made a formal report to my local PD this year on March 17. I found out last week my report is being looked into by the DA. 👀😅 I laugh because whatever comes his way, it’s well deserved. The things he told me, the things he did to me, he ruined me. He gets to live his best life while I’m left to pick up the shattered mess he left of me. Never any justice for the survivor. He lives in Az and works for a “trucking” company. He’s on marriage #2. When he met and married these two women (at different times) they both had daughters between 4-6 years of age.

I love them all at least a little bit. However when a man like this comes on, tells his story in the most raw and guttural way, it makes me and I’m sure thousands of others, dig deep into our hearts and minds to find resolution to our own problems and history. @@Christandnature Yes, I understand. However, what society is saying is that there comes a time when we have to face the fact that the abuse happened and we actually survived that trauma. Now, that we survived, how are we going to respond. Will the warrior inside of us take over, or will we withdraw and hide in the closet, become a villain and destroy others or take that pain and vow that it will not destroy us. Then, turn it into love and lavish this love on ourselves. Then and only then can we release our abuser and set our spirit free. We deserve peace which will free us to give ourselves all the love we need. The abused did nothing wrong to deserve the abuse.

Knowledge is power and you can protect yourself and get on the right path, all the best to you, Very brave and admirable. You can help a lot of people. This offering really helped me relate and grow, I sincerely appreciate the bravery he has letting down the walls and speaking about what he endured without filters. I read comments that were attempting to steer the uncomfortable headline of discussion toward this type of abuse and grooming being a “Black problem” or a “Southern problem-“ both of which are ridiculous, both in race, and in geography. I am Caucasian and northern, and I experienced a similar type of grooming and abuse from my own older sister who was 6 years my senior. I ended up a gay white male in adulthood, and the silence and stigma of what my life was from the ages of 9 to 11 changed the trajectory of my life entirely. I denied and downplayed the significance of what happened for decades, and when I finally felt comfortable enough to disclose what I went through with a couple friends, or maybe they were associates, what I confided eventually made its way to my family core, where it only ended up being absorbed as absurdity and outrage rather than truth or plausibility, when I became the “black sheep” as what is most common- not only not believed, but held in contempt as a delusional dramatic who was making up stories to cause drama. It’s getting better to some degree, male victims are beginning to be listened to and taken seriously more frequently, but we still have a long way to go. The only closure I have at this point is, if my older sister was willing to violate me in such ways, where did she learn that from? What did she go through that led her to the ideas and grooming techniques she used on me? I cut ties and have had no contact with her for 8 years now, but those questions I have about what led her to do what she did to me are still looming- and are sure to end up unanswered questions.

It's not easy to open yourself up to that kind of possible judgement, especially from a society that is uncomfortable admitting that these things happen in families, and that males are victims too. Interesting how he discusses what happened with his brother and his brother's friends as "abuse" but calls the incest with his sister "screwing." I understand she was a kid, too, but it sounds like she was still several years older. I wonder what makes him make that distinction.

He was good looking for an old guy too. He was proud his only child became a police officer and did the opposite of what he did. He was reunited with his Son at 18 after getting out of jail. Everybody is doing great now. It proves you should never give up because even very late in life it's possible for wonderful things to happen. No matter who you are, you just can't give up.

Bless him, I hope he can get clean and live a good simple life. When he answered the question about the things he could change if he could go back into his past had me in tears. I’m rooting for you Wayne ❤

Sir, you have a very clear and wise mind and a very good understanding of trauma and how it recreates itself. I hope you get a lot of support and love and also the room and possibility to cry all these tears you held in, so you can be your beautiful less burdened self.
