Five years later at 15 when I finally decided to tell someone what happened it was my guidance counselor. He wanted to know who had done what to me. I knew my whole world was going to crash around me after I told him. Nothing ever happened. Then he was arrested for soliciting sex from men. I kind a lost faith in everything. I pray to God that he wrap his arms around him and that he may find peace 💗 as he is so deserving of it. As for mothers (or fathers) who bring a slew of boyfriends (or girlfriends) around your children ... STOP 🛑 Stop bringing around people around who may not have the best of intentions for your children. Your children are FIRST! You deserve a love life, yes but carefully vet the person that you bring into your child’s life and always be vigilant. This goes for vetting and being vigilant of others too (family, friends, etc.) While it’s not possible to zero out the possibility of abuse, it is possible to drastically reduce it.

Being a survivor of childhood sexual abuse and emotional neglect, and more abuse in my early adult hood, your channel has honestly been therapeutic. I've been able to feel more empathy and compassion for human beings I never thought I could, and feel a sense of peace within myself until I'm able to get the help I'm seeking. This pandemic has left a huge shortage of therapist/mental health workers due to the influx in demand, and burnout on people working in the field, and I'm on a 4 month waitlist after reaching out to almost 40 therapists. It's been hard to be patient, but your work helps me and others feel less isolated/alone in our suffering. I also really like that you have interviewed multiple men who are sexual abuse survivors, because unfortunately, there is still too much stigma and shame attached to the idea of a man being a survivor of abuse, because it "demeans their masculinity". The truth is, actually, that those who speak out about their stories (men and women and everyone outside and in between) carry the utmost strength, reclaiming their own power, and not allowing what someone else did to us to dictate our lives any longer--ending a violent cycle. I wish this man the best.

You’re not alone, not you or anyone. I’m so fucking deeply sorry, you have so much hope and potential. It’s not your fault, you’re a handsome man and you deserve confidence.

Nobody thinks you're gay. Survivors often blame themselves for what happened, but that's just the wrong frame of mind to be in. I can say with great certainty that nobody will ever touch you like that again. Look at the bright side. You get to live life with a greater understanding of what can potentially go wrong and stop it from happening your daughter. Stay strong and thank you for doing the interview

Codependency needs to be addressed if victimization is going to stop. Predators do pick these people out of crowds. Boundaries and healthy relationships need to be learned. It does repeatedly happen until those things are addressed in the victims. Also dwelling on childhood abuses and feelings of helplessness can only serve to perpetually keep in a state of depression. Been there and learned.

@@vonderloo3184 can you explain how codependency comes into this situation?

@@conor7187 As was explained to me by DOJ Agent after physical, mental emotional and stalking abuse, Predators do pick these people out of crowds. Codependency. Research it. Makes you a victim that is recognizable to predators. Like a neon flashing sign on your forehead, predators can pick them out of a crowd of 200 people and zero in.

@@vonderloo3184 I know what codependency is, but I'm just curious as to how it's related to this topic. Codependency doesn't make you a victim though. It could make you more susceptible to staying in a bad relationship for longer than you should, but what's that got to do with predators?
