Amber was so transparent and who knew she had such a big personality? She seemed so laid back and reserved as a captain. I will always stan her for that battle of the bands against the divas for MCC tho. She was on it that day and I got my everlasting life.

Amber wasn’t a captain. She was a LEADER. I could always tell that she cared more about just being in front from the confidence and uniformity HER GIRLS showed. This interview confirmed that for me. This was because she prioritized sisterhood, tradition, and what was best for her team. For some Stingette captains it really seemed like we were watching Beyoncé and her back up dancers but Ambers team looked like a team. It was seamless from front row to back row. But she says herself “it was just about them”. I respect that so much. Loved this interview. Loved her honesty and humility. Forever my favorite. 💖

I regret not giving Amber her flowers while she was captain. This interview was well curated and it illustrated her inherent leadership. I was one of the viewers who was skeptical of her simplicity but now I see that it was intentional - as a true captain, she didn’t put herself first, she was all about what made the TEAM look better. I would love to see her as a future sponsor.

Talent is one thing, but Amber’s level of Humility is almost unseen. It’s a beautiful thing to see such a humble spirit. Amber definitely is recognized for her individual look, but we have to credit her for REVIVING the stingettes during the 2017/2018 year. We call her the count queen for a reason. Not only did she pay attention to placement of the counts, but she created many of the fan favorite counts. She is a the epitome of a captain, & she got what it means to ENTERTAIN the crowd. I see why Jenae, & many other ladies have the upmost respect for her. I’m excited to support her in whatever endeavor she decides to pursue.

You should do a video on the "Ugly side of Dance" because the way these lovely souls break down some of the hurdles they face almost bring tears to my eyes at times. It just amazes me how much these girls go through from start to finish. The biased tryout processes, the hazing, the inner team conflicts, the curse of social media, struggles as a student, family issues, relationship issues, injuries, depression and psychological damage after ending career. I had to ask myself, "Damn, is this dance or some public office within the government dealing with life and death situations of the world?" It just seems to be a bit much and really all for naught. Don't get me wrong, I love watching all the dance teams as I think black women are the most beautiful women on the planet and black culture is the most copied on the planet. But, there really is no national championship for "game by game" college dance that I'm aware of and most of it is for "bragging rights". These ladies literally pour out their blood, sweat and tears just to be a part of these teams. They're attacked worse than the leader of the free world it seems, and it is very disheartening to know. A lot of their smiles are manufactured. A lot is being held back from their testimonies, and for good reason. The last thing we need to see are black women displaying their hatred and disgust for one another like we see on those horrible reality TV shows. I think we in the viewing public should be made aware of the issues these girls face. This is more than just dance. Hopefully something like that will make us more appreciative of what they do and we wont' be so quick to criticize or be overly judgmental. Or better yet, we can be better equipped to critique their routines instead of getting too personal about who they are. Just a thought, but thanks again Morgan. You are doing a great job.
