Just suppose something serious happened and you were hospitalised or worse dead ... No compo (the other kind) for you or your loved ones ... Lack of PPE would be the insurers get out of paying clause ... From my experience, on-site work the main contractor has their own safety person who is on it for fear of getting HSE on their case. Think of them not as the enemy but as someone who has your back and wants to ensure you get a FULL payout if you have to make a claim. It's OK laughing and joking about PPE until it's YOU screaming and shouting in agony with zero chance of a payout and can't work for the rest of your life ... Two Tier Kier won't help you
