I have to keep going back to basics of counting. It looks to me like you count your chains differently than I do. When you turn from your foundation chain to make your very first double crochet, you said to go into the 3rd chain from the hook. To my eye, you didn’t go into the 3rd chain - you went into the 4th chain. What I’ve learned in other videos, illustrations and instructions, is not to count the loop that’s currently on the hook; the first chain is the one that’s right next to the one in the hook. You appeared to skip both the loop that’s on the hook and the chain right next to it, and to start your counting in what I would call the 2nd chain from the hook. Am I “misreading” the video, or do you have a different method of counting, or did the mechanics of filming perhaps interfere? It’s hard for me to understand how all you youtubers can crochet while getting closeup shots of your work when making videos, anyway.
