Yes it will be less as no wifi in our current generation gives 100% efficiency even in ideal conditions , and in real life you can expect 90-100 Mbps with ur router

Do a speed test, if ur getting the full speed u don't need to, otherwise u can go for it. And remember, 5ghz band doesn't improve on range, and only works fast in close range. If ur router is really old, then getting a newer one would improve even on ur 2.5ghz band. So if ur not getting the 70mbps performance, you could look forward to investing in a good router
