Unpopular Opinion: Trend tools are overrated and they are ruining certain aspects of RedBubble (keyword spammers who stuff unrelated phrases)...especially as they become more widely known. There's only so many people that will be able to capitalize on those same keywords. Combine that with the tag spamming on RedBubble, and it's going to be more difficult to follow trends as time goes on. My solution: Take the long-term approach. It's the very reason my income on RedBubble has grown and I sell so many different products. My keywords don't show up on trend tools. It's not a popular approach because it does not have the illusion of "quick money" that everyone desires, but it's a more lasting approach. I share more about my UNPOPULAR opinion on trends here. passiveshirtprofits.com/how-redbubble-popular-tag-tools-are-killing-the-sites-integrity-and-quality/

I’ve literally sold like 3500+ masks and not a lot else... it was great initially but now everywhere sells nice mask designs at cheaper prices than Redbubble, so my sales have dropped significantly in recent months. The issue that this has created for me is that all of my designs now just show by default as masks. I’d like to add that I’m not complaining about the drop in sales - I’m grateful for the money I made from masks, plus I haven’t put any time into Redbubble for a very long time, so it’s all 100% my own fault for not finding the time to get on top of my tags and descriptions. Not really sure what to do about my default RB products all showing as masks now though. I’d really love to start selling in the home decor product categories but a lot of my designs don’t really cater to them, so I’m now thinking about starting a new shop altogether to do that, it’s just an issue of finding the time... I like Lisa’s idea for starting a new shop and documenting its progress on KZbin. Totally understand why she doesn’t want to show her main shop(s).

Well interestingly enough, I've never sold stickers on RedBubble. I mostly sell t-shirts with an occasional coffee mug. I've sold quite a few Christmas-themed facemasks and posters, but still mostly T-Shirts. I think that's because I create my designs for mba and then just reupload them to redbubble and they all are t-shirt designs (way more well suited to t-shirts than stickers).
@LisaIrby4 жыл бұрын
Interestingly enough that’s exactly how I started. And those same Merch designs sold on other Redbubble products too. I really think it’s more about the keyword and idea. Some designs and niches just sell more on other products. I was shocked at how many of my T-shirt designs sell on home decor products. I assumed I’d have to create more patterns or specific designs for those products. Nope. I just slapped my best selling Merch shirts up there. 😀 Now I’ve started to pay more attention to the products and what looks good on certain ones.....but not at first.
