Hi Lisa, thanks for taking your valuable time to make this video. I was one of those that made tons of money with online marketing BEFORE google messed up ALL my rankings. Like many others I was devastated and didn't know if I wanted to take on the challenge to diversify my business but I did. So the purpose of this post is to let side hustlers understand the power of diversification. Just figure out what you love to sell and don't give up hope.

Yep! I was in the same group as you. Believe it or not, I had a site ranking #1 for home employment in the late 90s! Had I not diversified early, I would have needed a 9 to 5. Thankfully 26 years later I'm still to do this full time and semi retire.

Update Jan 2025: Just updating here as I get messages from time to time asking about my whereabouts. I'm still full-time online and very much active on print on demand, but not as much on KDP. I earn about $250-$300 per month with 20 or so books. Can't complain since I've invested so little time on it. No new KDP uploads since Jan. 2024. Edit: Made $800 in December 2024!! Wasn't expecting that! I'm finally mastering Amazon advertising with POD and got my T-shirt sales are now better than my best levels of 2018 and 2019 (Whew! Hard work!), so print on demand continues to be my main focus. Feels good to finally make significant progress with ads. It took me 2 years to feel more confident about it. I took a break from KZbin, and have really just really prefer to focus on my other income streams since that's where I make most of my money. Hope all is well with you! ❤

What do you do in 2024? It looks like those designs don't work for clothing anymore. I did it exactly like you said in the video until after uploading the design. I did 2000 x 2000 px at 350 dpi and it said it was already at 100% already. I can't make adjustments and RedBubble doesn't allow you to go outside of the dotted line on the t-shirts and such. It looks like they were better years ago unfortunately. Looking for a better way now but this was still very helpful to know. Any tips would be great. Thank you.

You are right about Amazon making it easy. I find the copycats just by researching the niches I am designing in. For Etsy, I just started making my mockups with a watermark layer and just adding a line in the description explaining the watermark. I make the watermark layer just over the area on the t-shirt that will get the design. I get a certain pleasure in knocking out accounts on Amazon, Etsy, and TeePublic that have the nerve to copy on the same platform I am selling on. For the rest, if you do some of the things you have explained at least it is more difficult for the theives.

To those that are new to POD now in 2023 the newest thing is kittl. If your like me if you see a design you would know right away what you would want to change about it to make it look how you want it to. This new service out is an all in one stop for POD. It is a Canva with artists that sell their designs to kittl and then you just pay a monthly fee for the service and you get unlimited designs. It has helped me tremendously in starting my business. You search the designs, and then choose one and bam you can edit it right there, just like in canva, change colors etc, add text,.. Make it your own and then you can even make the mockup in there. It is a all in one stop for POD. I am loving it. I still use Canva from time to time and Creative Fabrica but for $15.00 a month it is a great deal and they have killer designs. Also the newest thing as far as the final size for anyone who sells on Etsy they are finally making their photos image size 2000 x 2000 so your final mockups and photos will be all the same size. They will still cut off 1/8" keep in mind but it makes it so you can really size your photos correct Much easier. Also just for an FYI I use Printify for my T-shirts and mugs etc. I hope these tips help someone out. I am just leaning all this myself and your videos and comments section have been an intricate part of my learning. So thank you for that. I wonder does anyone still recommend a general store or should it always be a Niche store now a days?

@LisaIrby Жыл бұрын
May I ask why? I have been getting paid monthly since 2003. What makes it a scam? Did they not pay you?
@gamerconfig_com
@gamerconfig_com Жыл бұрын
@@LisaIrby Hi Lisa, I remember to start following you back in (I think) 2009 when I started my adventure with Adsense, and you earned insane amounts back then. A scam is probably not the best word to describe what happened to me. If you want, I can tell you my story. I started Adsense back in 2009, and I also had full-time jobs, etc. The many from Adsense were more like pocket money. The situation changed in 2019 when I started promoting a bit (over 3x traffic) and moved from Adsense to Ezoic (3x). If you don't know, Ezoic is an OFFICIAL Google partner. Now, I have started to earn money. - about $2500 a month, and that is very good in Poland, where I Live. I just put Ezoic placeholders where I wanted to see the ads and they put them according to their algorithms. And I used only Ezoic. I also chose an option that prefers user experience to money earning. I watched my earnings every day on the Ezoic dashboard. And one day (2 months), they stopped showing. After 3 days I contacted Ezoic and asked what was happening, and they told me my Adsense account was closed by Google. At first, I thought that somebody attacked my site by clicking my ads and it was click fraud, but it wasn't the case. What Google wrote to me (more like copy-pasted) by people with no names is that I had s, auto-refreshing ads, and thin content. That is stupid because I have had the same type of content for the last 10 years (on this website). I don't even know how s and auto-refreshing could help me in earnings. If somebody earned them $50K (as they take 32%) in the last 4 years then even a phone call would be great to fix the issue, but even an email with a warning. No ... instant ban is a better option. If Ezoic is one of their biggest partners maybe they should contact them in the first place, because if it happened to me, maybe it happens to other 10K sites Ezoic operates, but no. Ezoic started to act at the beginning as they have a special guy called "Google representative". He tried to figure out what happened with my account for 1.5 (sic) months. After that time I got an update: "We don't know". He suggested that I appeal from the appeal form with a special link. I asked Ezoic's employee (who was following my case) to suggest to me what I should write. "I explained the situation that I use Ezoic, and I work with Ezoic (who is your official partner) employee (I write first and last name as she suggested) to fix the issue as quickly as we can. They wrote (I'm paraphrasing) that they don't care I have a permanent ban and I'm done for life. I'm quite lucky in this manner that I'm completely not suicidal, have a money reserve, and don't have family to support. I may wonder how many people ended their lives because of them. I forgot to write that destroying the business that I had been building for many years wasn't enough for them they "borrowed" $3000 from the money I already earned. The case is still in progress, but I have little hope for my account to be reactivated or even give back my money. So, recently I found out how evil this soulless corporation is. No wonder, the DOJ takes on Google in an antitrust lawsuit, and I hope they will split them into 100 little Googles because we need competition.

Long time no see, What impact does AI easy Vector Generator has on POD?
@LisaIrby
@LisaIrby Жыл бұрын
My sales have increased in the last year, and I'm not using AI. One thing AI is not good at doing is understanding ALL niches. So if you happen to know of a niche others aren't privy to, you still have a leg up. I'm not worried about AI simply because my strength is finding small niches. While AI can be a GREAT tool for fast designs, it's still not human when it comes to research.
