I love this! I can see myself fixing up and decorating this one! That little sink on the back porch! And in the bedroom. It would have to stay just for cuteness! Nice house. It needs to be a home again.

My Granny had a sink on the back porch. When it was mealtime, she'd holler outside to come in and 'warsh' up, that it was time to eat. That's where we'd wash up before coming in the house to eat. I look back now, and figure that was better than us all trying to get in the bathroom and trashing it! 😊

Must be near a freeway or something because you can hear lots of traffic passing this house. The noise of the traffic may be one of the reasons why it’s abandoned.

Really liked this house, looks massive downstairs but with only two bedrooms upstairs, good to see it was just how they left it with no vandalism, loved the front porch too.

The room with the sink in the corner on the ground floor must have been another bedroom. There's no way a house that size would have had just two bedrooms.

I couldn't help but notice when you showed the old light bulb hanging from the ceiling that there was an adapter so you could also use the ceiling outlet for electric appliances and such. That was very common in the house I grew up in and of course my neighbor's houses. It was also a sign that you couldn't afford to have more electric run inside the rooms. So the adapter was a quick fix. I can remember seeing ironing boards under the lights and the irons plugged into the adapter.

My understanding is that those adopters were popular in the early 1900s. Reason being in the early days, electric companies offered two rates. One low rate for electric lighting and a much higher rate for electric appliances. That rate structure went out the window when people started buying the adopters so they could use their appliances at the lower rate. That and as the utility companies increased their generating capacity, they didn't care what people used the electricity for. At that point they wanted their customers to use as much electricity as possible.

Both my grandparents had homes built around 1880s with two front doors. One was in the Midwest the other in extreme SW Missouri (Ozarks). Same layout as the first floor of this home. Living room & kitchen on left side & bedrooms on the right. No hallway. The bedrooms were all connected. Must have been common back in 1800s.

You found a GEM with this one. I was surprised that there wasn't more furniture ect inside. The 2 pieces of furniture together looked like an old radio, and the one in front is called a credenza. I have one almost the same as this one. They would have it sitting in the dining room with their China on it for fancy holidays ect. That bathroom downstairs looked like my tiny little bathroom. Just put a tub on the far side and that's how big mine is. My Mr, when we moved here said it was the perfect set up for someone with the flu. 😮 It's the truth too! 😊 Keep them coming Mr Kappy! The foundation must still be in tact mostly. The roofing is a beautiful red but could use a good red metal roof. Love the bigness of all of it. Would strip the paint off the trim, crown molding, the doors, and the wainscoting, and hopefully see a medium brown wood through out, put some new plumbing but keeping the old style, new electric, central heating and air conditioning through out. Deck it with redone antique chandeliers, and wall lights, Weather trim all over, beautiful area rugs and some worthy beautiful draperies, and beautiful antique furniture.for starters. The kitchen made farm style, antique cupboards. Nice big fridge and a grand old upright rinkytink piano, and harp and other instruments. And a large pet room that has an adjacent pet pen enclosure,Why not have it all?! Beautiful place, and with redone fire places. Are we ready? Thanks Kappy for the stroll into this beautiful old house👍🦇🕸🕷🦗🦟🐿🐭Put them in an out building Ha! And add a few pets.❤

Have you noticed in your explorations that the houses with metal roofs have less water damage? Seems like that was a good plan for vintage homes. Another thing I’ve noticed is how close so many abandoned houses are to highways that probably weren’t present when the home was built. Wonder how much that had to do with the houses being abandoned. I really loved this house.

Very cool! The sinks in the bedrooms remind me of some of the explores I've seen in from Europe -- or at least in the Uk. It seemed to be a very common feature in country homes and It makes sense. I assume these replaced the old-fashioned washstands with the bowl and pitcher sets that we see in antique stores. I have not seen this so much in American urban exploring channels. LOL . But, then, Kappy is pretty much the only American channel I watch with any kind of regularity. And that is a high compliment to you Kappy! :)

Weird , all them sinks. Maybe next to the fireplaces in case of an accident ? Would hate to think of the electric bills in such a big ol place with them electric heaters. Cool place though.

I love the moldings around the front doors and the huge porch! Good find, looks pretty solid and kind of “clean” lol Bet it was a boarding house with those sinks in the 2 bedrooms plus so many door latches and chains. Great video as always thank you! -John

So great and unique how the sound of the house, land, place is so prominent. That instills the presents of the house, the loneliness, the reality. It compounds the experience of your videos. Thank you ❤

I wish I had the money to invest in restoring most of the houses you have shown. I know I would be able to turn around and sell them on their beauty alone.

That's a cool old farmhouse. Wonder what's with all the sinks? The back porch l got, cuz men would wash up after farmwork before entering the kitchen. Why??? do people go nuts with a paintbrush? Bet the original woodwork is nice. Two front doors were so men could come into the farmers office without tracking in mud, disturbing the ladies, and smoke. Thanks, Kappy, hi Ruby! 🌳

My Aunt had a glass hutch like that and she used to keep all her tea cups in it. We used to choose one to drink our tea from after dinner. So many rooms and doors.
