I prefer your take on oil with rice, toasting it. However, i soak my rice to get rid of the starch and drain in a strainer. I just love this demo and comment while cooking. New fan here.

I tried this today. I only had white rice on hand. How do I fix it if the rice is too wet after letting it sit with the heat off? Still VERY good! Just a little mushy

Your technique is awesome. I would like to try. However, seems like the jasmine rice to water ratio you used is 1:1.5 cups. I'm afraid it will come out soggy as Normally I do 1:1.25 cups or even 1:1 .

Becareful with salt or any salt based spices. Always start off with 1 tsp per cup stir well than taste if it needs more add another tsp. Taste n add as you go. Tsp is a safer way to not ruin your meal with salt. Hope this helps.
