Mirrors were big in my house built in 1979. Still have them. Carpet was big in the 70's and 80's. It was away to avoid putting wood down. When we tore out the carpet in 1991, having come from a family home built in 1947, I was kind of disappointed to see particle board instead of nice wood under the old carpet. When I grew up in the 60's, putting wall to wall carpet over nice wood floors was a thing. Our parents grew up in houses with wood floors so wall to wall carpet was a favorite of theirs. Great tour. Thanks.

Beautiful home. I really liked the large rooms on the main floor with large windows. The kitchen cabinets were really nice. The foyer with the beautiful stairway is gorgeous. Thank you for sharing this home within us. ❤🙂

That TV is an 80's clunker. Cool house. Fake plants were hot in the late 70's and early 80's. We had a ridiculous amount in our house that was built in 1979 and that we bought in 1982. They were dust collectors. Great video,Ethan. Thanks.

First floor of this house was massive, then upstairs floor plan was totally weird - huge master bedroom but all other rooms were small. Had to laugh when you were trying to explain the mirrored wall in master. I really like that you leave everything just the way you found it - respectful!

Really liked the design on the windows, and this time the cherry coloured kitchen cabinets worked great with those amazing green floors. The blonde wood was a nice choice too...overall it was a beautiful home with a nice layout, though it's a kind of a shame they didn't finish the basement. The bedroom mirrors were probably for uh...ballet practice. That room was so big i'd bet they even had a special 'yoga' chair in there at one point. 🤭🙃 Thank you Ethan, and take care!

Its an internal rear projection TV. This was thinner, larger and lighter than any cathode ray set could be. Probably 1990s vintage.

Hi Ethan Gosh so Cold it’s getting here in Manhattan! I like that house. Not bad for that time. I just don’t know why demolition is thee answer to these still strong and in tact houses? Maybe they know something we don’t ? There must be some advantage to demolishing them and rebuilding perhaps to get more money with the theme newly built?? Could be a sales tactic. Well this house was pretty nice 👍 anyhow thanks for the share! Come to Manhattan and I’ll give you a tour. 😊 peace and happy Christmas 🎄

Mirrors on the walls are supposed to make the room look bigger, although those don’t really need it. My bedroom in high school in a condo built in the early 70’s had sliding mirror closet doors. The room, including the closet, would have easily fit in the master bedroom closet with room left over. That grow room wouldn’t fit more than a couple of good plants, although back in the day they were not as large and full as they are today. A shame they let it get in that shape. When you said you thought it was an Italian family I was surprised that there wasn’t a kitchen in the basement.

the mirrors were to make the space appear twice the size. Not necessarily to look at oneself😊

This a PG answer...that time was when people wanted to show their wealth and the Victorian era was far gone. Many showed their wealth by the use of mirrors (and other increasing isize imaging), making the area look larger than it really was. Partly, in the bedroom, might have been for your un-PG description. I know a lot of closets had mirrored doors to make rooms look bigger.
