up and down the coast of southern California are white shark nurseries. 7-10 ft mostly, very close to shore and they've been swimming with us our entire lives, only now more commonly seen thanks to aerial drone photography. if you've swam or surfed in SoCal beaches, you've swam alongside theese juvenile sharks along with dolphins, leopard sharks, and whales.

This gives me such anxiety. I don’t get people who just hang out in deep water, on a slim surf board, legs just hanging off like you’re not surrounded by creatures that can rip you to pieces in an instant. No biggie.

Anyone who surfs just deals with it. There are times when it gets really quiet and cloudy; you get that spooky feeling and go in quickly. That's happened to me a few times.

They don’t tend to go after surfers. I think the board makes them look too big to prey on. But swimmers and free divers get bit/killed occasionally. I feel like swimming out there is like crossing the freeway blindfolded. You’re just rolling the dice.

You really think they were going after the sharks? Bro, they didn’t even know the sharks were there. Remember u have a bird eye view with the drone. Their camouflage makes them hard to see from the surface unless a fin breaks. If they knew they prolly would have left the water.

I did too..whenever I surfed Del Mar..I used to tie dead fish to my leash and wait..then..when those pesky whites would show up..I would attack!!!...I gave it up tho..I felt so. guilty...I'm in a support group now.
