‘Incredible honour’: KISS to perform ‘one last time’ in AFL Grand Final

Emotions were high for rock and roll royalty KISS as they told fans what an “incredible honour” it is for them to perform in this year’s AFL Grand Final halftime show.
“For us to be invited back here, for really what is, I mean the Grand Final is the Superbowl,” said lead singer Paul Stanley.
“Make sure it’s a no-fly zone over the stadium because we plan on blowing more things up.”
KISS are set to deliver one of their final performances on Saturday when the Brisbane Lions take on Collingwood FC at the MCG.
“To be here one last time when we thought we were done is an incredible honour for us,” Mr Stanley said.
“We’ve been coming to Australia since 1980 and this really feels like a second home.
“We love your country so much and hope you’re as proud of it as we are to be a part of it.”

I was there ! It was a hot 30 C before they came on stage but when they turned on the after burners around the ground it was Hot and Hotter I swear ! They were the best and remember on a hot Melbourne Saturday Grand Final Day these men who are in there sixties were explosive ! A memory forever ! I a Lions Man since a little Boy ! I've seen these guys 5 times in concert. The KISS Symphony in Melbourne with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra was an amazing show. They never put on a bad show.

Looking at your profile pic you probably weren't even born when KISS were on top of the world in their absolute prime. From 1973-2023 KISS has performed 3000 concerts ,released 44 official albums, that include 20 studio albums which is about 250 songs ,have sold about 100 million albums worldwide ,and have about 5000 official licensed products making them a 2-5 billion dollar empire. They are an incredible body of work,and to where they got to coming from very poor disadvantaged upbringing to being multi millionaires is pretty inspirational. A lot of very famous people are KISS fans actors such as Johnny Depp,Russell Crowe, John Travolta to name a few .Famous musicians are KISS fans - Jimmy Page from led Zeppelin likes KISS as does Brian May from Queen,Stevie Nicks from Fleetwood Mac,Bruce Springsteen and Keith Urban also like the band KISS Dave Grohl from the food fighters,Tom Morello from Rage against the Machine and a lot of others. KISS also took many bands out on tour as their support act bands like Bon Jovi ,AC/DC, Iron Maiden,Motley Crue ,Judas Priest got their first big break touring with KISS and being exposed to big concert crowds for the first time in their careers .All those bands first American tours was being on tour with KISS as their support act back in the day. KISS were pioneers of stage craft and pyrotechnics in live music. No band or artist had pyrotechnics before KISS
