The guitar player that Paul is referring to is Stephen Coronel from Wicked Lester. He introduced Gene to Paul. If you look into Stephen Coronel's recent history sadly he's caught up in some fairly seriously bad things and currently in jail. Life's full of chance meetings and Paul was incredibly lucky to meet Gene. They needed each other to balance out a very complicated chemistry between them.

@Kissband131 hey Paul why don't you be 100 percent honest? You really don't like gene as much as you claim. You're basically his business partner and that's the cold hard truth. You had no trouble throwing him under the bus in your book face the music where you really tore into him for alot of stuff over the 50 years you've known him. I think you're putting on a charade with how you feel about gene in the press and in public but privately you don't really like him. I get people have their faults but for you to expose his misgivings quite a lot really proves to me that you don't care thar much about him let's cut tge bullshit. What's going to happen when gene passes on? Will you be devastated? I honestly don't think you truly will be. You can put on the charade all you want but the truth will haunt you for the rest of your life. I think you probably know more about gene that you won't discuss right? Let's say it like it is man....he's your business partner case closed.

@gregromano7355 Absolutely man, I get sick of that s*** because I've heard the audio book of Paul's book. And basically he trashes gene alot. I think in the beginning when they got together They liked each other but as time went on when it became a business I think paul started to get tired of gene's ego because it was getting out of control. I would've understood if he busted gene's chops on his faults and was harmless but if you read his book it's pretty harsh stuff.... some of the things paul didn't like about gene and his actions and the way he went about the business in the band.

Paul is seriously intelligent/observant. I knew someone, that knows Paul (some projects they did together) and how he described working with Paul really impressed me. Paul was so clear on intentions, behaved with integrity but had boundaries as well. Impressive dude, from where I was sitting. Very stoic. 🧡🐳 Not bad for a guitar player… ;)

I know Kiss is a very popular band, but I think how good they are has been a bit underrated. Paul is an amazing singer and I don't think he has gotten the credit he deserves. They are very down to Earth genuine guys. I have always liked Gene. He is highly intelligent and he knows it and doesn't mind letting people know, which of course comes over as arrogance. When you see him with his family he is just a great guy. He appears to be great with his kids.

Precisely. They are actually two regular guys from NYC who both had a work ethic to arrive at attaining their dreams. They were the Yin & Yang to each other in making that attainment possible in the entertainment business. The Fate that brought them together with Bill Aucoin who recognized this about them (and believed in their dreams as much as they did) was indeed their ticket to stardom. And, I don’t care who it is, you realize in this world that ‘props’ are deserved for longevity in sticking with it through good & bad. More than any other band member, Paul deserves that respect. I am thankful to have met and spent time with them far earlier in their career (crazy-fun young days). It has become a cherished memory ..🎉❤.

"The only person I can change is me." "If you want a peach don't buy an apple, because it's never going to be an apple." Hmmmm . . . well said, Mr. Stanley. Also, Rather is really, really good: patiently waiting and letting Paul speak as long as he wants, without interruption. Hence, he's the anti-Howard Stern.

The interviewer is difficult to understand. He mumbles under his breath and I had to put on the subtitles to hear what he’s talking about.

Paul Stanley ,by far,is the sole reason kiss stayed a band so long.pete & Ace leaving, gene going Hollywood,Paul stepped up to the challenge, put out the best material and vocals thru the 80s.from"I still love you"to"uh all night" &"rain," showed his skills & ability l.U.P. .

How someone showed this much incite in the span of 8 minutes just blows me away! I have a newfound respect for Paul. I always liked Kiss and Paul's voice, guitar playing and showmanship. 80's Paul has been the butt of my jokes for being prettier and a better dancer then Madonna during that time frame. But this.....I've never had anyone make me reflect on my own life and choices and friendships as this interview instantly did. The wisdom here is through the roof! Thank you Paul! Thank you Dan for giving this interview.

KISS is the insipid music of 9 year-old boys. Any adult who is into KISS or STILL into KISS, needs to grow up. Alice Cooper invented "shock rock", and he also had some great songs. People love Vincent.

Two great businessmen. Accountants at heart. Maybe entertainers. But not rock'n'rollers. The only true rock'n'roller ever being a member of Kiss was Ace.

4:42 "If you want a peach, don't buy an apple". People keep trying to make apples be peaches, sadly. Nothing wrong with apples or peaches, of course. Nice advise.

First of all, so-called "Gene Simmons" isn't even his real birth name? I think it's a disgrace and shows complete disrespect of one's heritage to change their birth name, unless when a woman gets married. If a woman gets married and DOESN'T change her last name, that shows no respect to her husband. There was absolutely nothing wrong with the name"Chaim Witz"?! The change was probably made as the result of a greedy Business Manager, with respect to perceived anticipation of greater recognition and subsequent monetary gain?!

Looking great Paul...;-) Bet your glad you didn't use that clown makeup...;-) Please tell Gene he owes me...pay up! Also my one favor is listed on my KZbin Boo comments section...;-) Thanks! Oh, and the reason I was so against that clown look, was because what happened to me in the early 60's. My father was working for WMAR channel 2 in Baltimore Maryland, and took me to see Bozo the clown . I was a toddler. My father left me with other children that were there to see Bozo. I started looking for my father, and walked straight up to a live camera, but my father wasn't behind it. Then Bozo came out and told me to sit down. He smelled of booze and said the F word. All I did was ask him if his feet were really that big, and Bozo stomped on my foot. I walked off the set, and found my father. I explained what happened. My father went to the producer and Bozo was fired on the spot! He was immediately replaced with someone else. The other kids were too scared to stand up to him, but I wasn't.! My mother was at home with my brother, and later laughed because my entire body took up the entire screen on the TV....:-) I also composed for AC/DC and Black Sabath , among many, many others...;-) Hey, you saved my life by keeping my identity private all these years! Thank you!!!

People always slam Paul BUT let's be honest he was the most dedicated person in Kiss never resting on his laurels or getting lazy him being the chief songwriter. He was also not a substance abuser and I admire that.
