0:35 - Apparently they didn't tell you what it was, so I will: it's a rice cake (bolo de arroz). 🙂 10:10 - The Pastéis de Belém were created here and they didn't change the name, it was everyone else who had to give their pastéis a different name because the Pastéis de Belém are trademarked and their recipe is secret and exclusive to them. Also, you can compare Pastéis de Nata among themselves, like you did, but you can't compare Pastéis de Nata and Pastéis de Belém because they're not the same thing. And you could tell the difference! 13:33 - Whoa, are you crazy or something? No one puts that much piri-piri on the food! At least not without testing how powerful it is first! 🤣

Thank you for all the extra information! We love learning all these extra details and wish we could have put them in the video. And yes, I went a little hard on the piri piri sauce😂🤣 I assumed it wasn't too hot based on the "spicy" food I experienced in Spain.

@@MYTravelBF - In Portugal you can't take any home made piri-piri sauce for granted, some people like to go a little crazy on the amount of chilli peppers them put in it. 😄

Hello amigo! You dont have to drop the knife to get the chicken! Fork on the left hand, knife on the right hand! Fork picks up the food, knife helps to stabize the food on the fork! Common sense! :)

Gee, I didn't know that. But when I'm in Portugal I usually eat chicken with a spoon, to make sure I get all the delicious juices. As for the knife and fork, I am left handed, so I always hold the fork in my right hand, and the knife in my left hand. It's funny, when I was a kid, on this side of the big pond, my mother did not allow me to say the word faca, because it sounded too much like fuck. Just saying. Good work guys.

Should try Alcobaça sweet specialities, 😵🤯👍 👌 Aveiro, alfeizerao pastéis, sweets from Alentejo, Algarve (morgados), and to eat portuguese proper food made by the tipical TUGA people, go to the tascas, the ones were the low income people eat, 😉😋 there you find feijoada, DOBRADA, cozido à portuguesa, mão de vaca com grão, espetadas de novilho ou de porco preto, em pau de loureiro, chanfana, ENSOPADO de borrego, amêijoas à bolhão pato, sapateira recheada, arroz de pato, caldeirada de peixe, arroz de lampreia, arroz de polvo, end so on 😁 to find out, what it means translate and see pictures of the dishes, God bless,!, 🙏

Great video but you missed out on so much food. So much you can’t even imagine. I’m from Lisbon born and raised, and still here, and you should get some advice from some locals because your have so much typical Portuguese and “lisboeta” food you should have tried that I really feel sorry for you guys. Pastel de nata is amazing, of course but, first of all, besides everything else, how come you came here and didn’t eat some of the million ways of cooking bacalhau (cod fish)?😊. You must come again. Rent a car, go to Cascais and Sintra, etc.
@MYTravelBF
@MYTravelBF Жыл бұрын
Thank you! It was impossible to eat everything in just the 3 days we were in Lisbon, so we'll have to return! We did have the bacalhau, but we had our camera away for it. We did make it to Sintra for a day though and actually have another video up on it if you want to check that out! Maybe next time when we come back, you can be our guide to all the other 'lisboeta' food! Thank you for watching and commenting!

I will never understand, what on Portuguese Food is so excellent ! The Bacalhau tastes nothing, it is wet cotton ! The food has no taste, no variety in salads and legumes ! You can eat terrible sweet cakes a lot, but after two weeks in Portugal, you will become problems, except you are American or English ! 🤣 (I live here many years)

We all know you are a troll for the way you speak, but even so, must be very sad to be you.
