Our overall plan in India is to travel via rickshaw/tuk tuk from the South to North (if it's possible?) The next leg of our journey is to travel the rest of the way through Karnataka and then up to Maharashta
We feel like we have only just arrived in India, after a crazy time back home doing van life and living full time in our camper van conversion for two years in the UK. But after some serious engine problems that cost us a fortune, we came to India on a mission to honour Liam's Grandad's legacy who sadly died earlier this year. With the inheritance money Liam got from that, we bought the tuk tuk and named it after Liam's Grandad.

Places to eat at in Mumbai: 1. Elco Pani puri - (area - Bandra west in Mumbai) - One of the best Pani puris in town. Very clean & hygienic. They use bottled mineral water to make these. So very safe to eat Pani Puris at this place. 2. Sardar Pav Bhaaji - (area - Tardeo in Mumbai) - The best and the most buttery Paav Bhaaji on Planet Earth. 3. Bade Miyan - Late night place - is open till 3 am or so (area - near Taj hotel & the Gate way of India in Mumbai) A late night place, patrons eat in their cars, but has a seating area as well. Famous for their wraps, Tikkas, Tandooris & barbecued stuff. 4. Leopold Cafe (area - Colaba causeway in Mumbai) - Nice beer, barbecues, nice desserts. 5. Pancham Puriwala - (area - fort in Mumbai) - 5 types of puris(bread), savory dishes & desserts. 6. Persian Darbar - (area - Bandra west in Mumbai) Famous for their Raan Biryani. Delicious Mughlai cuisine. You'll love it. 7. Mahesh Lunch home - (area - Juhu Tara road in Mumbai) Heaven for Sea food lovers. Very clean & hygienic and you can get the most iconic sea food dishes here. 8. Mini Punjab's Lake side - (area Powai in Mumbai) * Need to call and book a thaali(platter) in advance. Famous for its Dara Singh Thaali - available in both veg & non-veg versions. A must try. 9. Britannia & co. restaurant - (area - Ballard estate, Fort in Mumbai) Famous for its Irani / Parsi cuisine. Awesome Desserts & Sodas. 10. Anand Stall - (Vile Parle west in Mumbai) A fast food joint famous for its awesome Vada Paav, Sandwiches & Dosas. 11. Mohammed Ali road - (Area - CST - 6 pm onwards till late night) The whole street is filled with street vendors who sell various non-vegetarian stuff and some vegetarian too. Plus, there are some really nice restaurants on the same street. Try the famous dessert that you get only on this street in a sweet shop. The dessert is called Aflatoon.

However. secret Services got wind of the Bombing that was to happen and got her to Goa early. But what about the poor souls who were injured and died.

Shantaram is a great book isnt it. It clearly paints india/bombay in the minds eye. As you loved it, you might like The Pleasure Seekers by tashani doshi. About a young man who comes to london marries a welsh girl and goes back to india and how the lived. Its stunning. Also have you read A Passage to India by e.m. Forster its about life in india for a young british lad back in the day and the indian uprising and beyond. Its epic too.

If you are very much craving for onion uthaappam and missing it , you can make it in your house itself the dosai batter is available in Asian stores run by Tamil people in London 1 kilo of batter is sold for around 3 pounds . If you are still in India buy a thick heavy dosa tawa which will be cheaper here. 👍👍👍👍👍👍

What a busy place with so much going on. You both seem so relaxed even though it is so crowded and noisy. The food looked interesting and such a variety although it seems mostly quite spicy. Keep safe xx ❤

It's not that spicy...there are variety of options...I think most of the time these both end up selecting spicy food as they are not aware. Gujrati dishes are mild, sweet and flavourful. Maharashtrian dishes are spicy but if you ask food vendors or restaurant to tone down the Spice, they will do it. All you need to do it tell them you need it less spicy.

Ahh lovely Mumbai, the last time i was there it was just still Bombay… oh how I’ve gone in in your footsteps with the train ride from Goa and the streets of the city. It certainly is a place that never sleeps… yes my self and my friend being blonde were constantly offered money for photos, especially in Agra at the Taj. You definitely look the part, It is so special to dress as they do. Such a beautiful Country. It will never leave you.❤

Food and shopping in Mumbai! Fabulous! That dress, Janine, and the color is a complete show stopper! After my visit there years ago, I was sorry not buy and bring back some beautiful sari material or fabric for decorating my bedrooms, etc! Batiks are also plentiful and beautiful. A blue lapis stone set in a ring or earrings is a unique piece from India. Everything above is inexpensive, lightweight and easy to pack! Shamaran, yeah! ❤
