INCREDIBLE Progress! Malaysia's First Ever LRT to Shah Alam City
Shah Alam is the capital of Selangor, Malaysia. It's known for the stunning Blue Mosque, beautiful parks like the Lake Gardens, and the thrilling Skytrex Adventure park, where you can only enjoy this iconic Zipline or Flying Fox adventurous activity at Shah Alam. The city offers a mix of modern amenities and natural beauty, along with a diverse food scene. It's a great place to visit for relaxation, adventure, and cultural experiences. So don't miss this everyone. But in order for the tourists or visitors like me to explore the top places around the Capital City of Selangor, Shah Alam needs to have a good public transportation system. So, visitors can travel comfortably and save time.
That's why Shah Alam City needs an LRT system for several important reasons. First, the city's growing population increases the demand for efficient transportation. An LRT can provide a reliable way for residents to get around, reducing traffic congestion, especially during peak hours. I heard lots of Malaysian especially the Resident of Selangor has been working in Kuala Lumpur City Centre. With LRT3 I believe this will not only makes daily commutes faster but also eases the overall traffic burden on the city's roads.
Honestly, I'm impressed with the Shah Alam Line aims, which are in line with the Malaysian Government's long-term effort to enhance public transportation and provide a more efficient alternative to driving in the heavily congested Klang Valley area.
As of June 2024, the LRT Shah Alam Line (LRT3) is progressing well, with the project reaching approximately 91.68% completion. The line, which will span from Bandar Utama to Johan Setia, is expected to start operations on March 1, 2025. This line is set to benefit over two million residents in the Klang Valley, particularly those in Petaling Jaya and Klang.
The line will feature 22 three-coach trains with a passenger capacity of 18,630 per hour per direction. Key interchange stations will be at Bandar Utama, connecting with the MRT Kajang Line, and Glenmarie, linking to the LRT Kelana Jaya Line. (Sources: MRT.com)
After seeing the New Malaysian Railway Station the LRT3 and elevated LRT train route progress myself, I was amazed because after this, you can easily travel from Kuala Lumpur to explore Shah Alam using the Shah Alam Line (LRT3), start by going to a main station in Kuala Lumpur, such as KL Sentral. From there, you can take the MRT Kajang Line to Bandar Utama MRT Station and don't forget at Bandar Utama, you need to change station to Bandar Utama LRT Station and continue your journey towards Shah Alam with the New LRT Shah Alam Line.
As the train travels along the Shah Alam Line, you will pass several stations within Shah Alam. Depending on what you want to explore, you can get off at different stations. For instance, if you want to visit the Shah Alam Stadium, alight at the Stadium Shah Alam station. For the Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) campus, get off at the UiTM station. If you’re interested in the city center and attractions like the Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Mosque (Blue Mosque), the Section 14 station would be ideal.
After exploring Shah Alam, you can easily return to Kuala Lumpur. Simply board the Shah Alam Line train back to Bandar Utama, then switch to the MRT heading towards Kuala Lumpur to reach your desired destination. This convenient route makes it easy to travel between Kuala Lumpur and Shah Alam for both commuting and leisure purposes. Fortunately, the LRT Shah Alam is almost ready! Can't wait to ride on the New Train.

Boleh tepat lagi dikatakan ini LRT dalam negeri Selangor walaupun LRT dan MRT yg sudah ada skrg masuk juga ke Selangor tetapi LRT Shah Alam ini jangkauannya lebih luas namun ia integrasi juga dgn mrt lrt yg sudah ada untuk perjanan masuk ke KL.

KTM Shah Alam ni suatu ketika dulu adalah Train legend. Cuma lambat & kekerapan kurang. Harap dapat tingkatkan servis perkhidmatan. LRT3 akan jadi alternatif pilihan pengguna train di Klang Valley lepas ni.

Warna Biru adalah khas untuk laluan LRT Shah Alam. Warna Hijau adalah untuk laluan MRT Kajang dan manakala warna merah jambu untuk laluan LRT Kelana Jaya. Warna2 ini memudahkan penumpang mengenali pasti laluan yang hendak diikut dan untuk mengelakkan kekeliruan. Agak2 apa la warna untuk laluan MRT3 yang bakal dibina tidak lama lagi.

Dah bnyk laluan lrt di Kuala Lumpur. Tak adakah cadangan nk buat peta jual mcm peta jalan raya/ lebuh raya tu? Sy tak tinggal di Selangor. Seumur hidup 2-3 kali aja ke KL atas urusan2 tertentu, Tp sy minat mencuba keretapi ni. Jalan2 berselirat mcm ni sangat mengelirukan.

Brunei based company ada buat cadangan untuk bina Trans-Borneo Rail Link untuk sambungkan Sabah, Sarawak, Negara Brunei dan Indonesia Kalimantan. Projek ini memang berimpak tinggi kalau menjadi realiti. IKN Ibu Negara Indonesia yang baru pun suda hampir siap. Kita tunggu dan lihat la nanti harap bersabar.

​@@user-bw9bc5zz3q lambat lagi IKN nak siap. Bakal mangkrak lagi ada kerana masih tiada investasi asing. Dan Trans Borneo Rail Link tu cuma cadangan company tersebut. Belum dibincangkan dengan government Malaysia atau Indonesia. Dan mereka juga mendakwa tidak pernah dimaklumkan berkenaan rancangan tersebut oleh company itu.

Belum ada keperluan untuk membuat LRT atau MRT di Sabah dan Sarawak. Kerana masih kurang kepadatan penduduk di sesetengah tempat. Kita tidak mahu projek LRT dan MRT menjadi mangkrak seperti Monorail Jakarta, atau menjadi sepi penumpang seperti LRT Palembang dan LRT Jakarta. Jakarta yang punya penduduk 20 juta saja tapi projek Monorailnya mangkrak, LRT Jakartanya sepi penumpang.

​@@brojack1378 , tak betul. Rekabentuk ini memang itulah sejak dari asal. Penjimatan adalah dikurangkan stesen dan mengurangkan bilangan koc setiap tren dari 6 koc kepada 3 koc. Juga mengecilkan saiz stesen (lebih pendek sesuai dengan panjang tren). Rupa bentuk stesen tetap sama.
