First of all it is not a war. War is normally described between two nations with armies and aircraft. Hamas has neither of the above. It can be described as a conflict between an occupying force and the occupied. How would you feel if Nazi Germany had won the 2nd World War and had occupied England. Would you just accept the abuses and destruction of your families and relatives? I guess not. The Palestinians are innocent people in this and are fighting for justice, peace and the right to exist in their own homeland. Palestinians are "innocent people"? Before Israel existed, there was the Palestine Arab Congress, Battle of Tel Hai, Nebi Musa riots, Palestine Riots, Hebron Massacre, Jaffa Riots, and numerous other attacks on peaceful Jewish settlements starting in 1920. Jews armed themselves in the late 1930s to counter Arab aggression, and fighting escalated from there. When the UN tried to separate the warring factions into their own countries, the Jews accepted, and the Palestinians refused, wanting 100% of the land or nothing. After Israel's war of independence, Gaza and the West Bank were held by Egypt and Jordan. Free from Israel, did the Palestinians try to integrate into their host countries or work towards establishing a state? No, they assassinated the King of Jordan in 1951 (despite Jordan being the only country to offer Palestinians full rights as citizens), staged 3 coup attempts against Egypt, and launched repeated raids into Israel. In the 1970s, Palestinian refugees ethnically cleansed Christians from Lebanon, and destabilized that country as well.
