31:30 Maru noticed Serral's intentions about lurker and infestor move, and deployed armys opposite to general engagement like defense with bios and hitting hatch with ghosts. Genius.

I feel like Maru could have used nukes better in the first game to take back the bottom left base. The problem he kept running into was that every time his army would extend down to the bottom left, the zerg would swarm from the bottom, the right, AND the top right. If maru preemptively dropped a nuke or two to the right, so that zerg would not be able to engage into the army from that direction, maru could have taken that time to extend into the bottom left, snipe the base and the drones, and be back in time to defend the big daddy PF. Instead, he would poke at it and have to run back to the safety of big daddy and the tanks, accomplishing nothing. I still don't feel like nukes have been figured out in this game. I've never seen terrans use them for effective army zoning. I've never seen someone set up a formation of nukes that forces an engagement. Terrans always use them either to prevent an engagement, or to damage bases / push creep, structures, and armies back. Forcing an engagement on your terms with them would be stronger than this passive nuke play that we're always seeing. Idk, maybe it's not possible. But I'd love to see something different with them

Maru kept trying take the platform in front of his bottom left base, which was very hard to defend. I think he should have skipped taking the platform, and just airdropped everything directly into the bottom left base.

I believe this was the first Time Serral beat Maru in an official Series. And what a victory it was. Serral has not looked convincing in these high-class TvZ's lately, especially against Clem. But here he showed the world why they still call him the Goat, despite Maru playing absolutely amazing.

@@aj2228 Once. After losing four series in a row and right before losing another series against him. Those pulls are a very lackluster solution as a Terran of Clems caliber can simply micro the individual mines and target them onto zerglings. That's how he got him the second time

@LowLinK Serral never took part in GSL. He only played in the GSL vs the World Events, where he beat Maru in single games, but never in a Series. (The Team Serral vs Team Maru event)

That game 2 was insane. Even with Maru maintaining control for most of the game Serral not only held on but evened the field for a brief moment there. I can't wait to see these two in a BO7 match.

Serral decided to play into the more gritty, trading style of TvZ in game three, and beat Maru in his own comfort zone. I think that's why Maru smiled. It's what he tried to do in game one by preemptively teching ghosts, signalling he wanted to play late game.

@@aj2228 Also when Clem play Serral, its always on the same server with little ping as well. I like it when EU fans saying its because of the ping that Clem lost to KR Zerg, but they dont make that claim when Maru playing Serral or Reynor.

Game 2 and 3 are weird for Serral. He usually doesn't lose that much drones to widow mine drops like in the first game. And in most games actually.

Honestly I think Serral did pretty well with them. Maru's probably the best at widow mine drops out of every Terran, and he has a tendency to go all out with them, continuing them at weird times when most players have abandoned the tactic, which can absolutely devastate opponents. In game 3 especially, I think Serral demolished the drops super hard, which put him in a position where he had a better economy and better tech, which allowed him to turn that in to an insurmountable advantage.

Technically the win condition is to destroy all enemy buildings, but nearly any game you'll see a player surrenders when they know there's no chance they'll win

I'm a huge Maru fan but, for Maru to lose this badly, either Zerg is too strong or Serral is that good. I think he's proven himself to be one of the best Zergs.

I used to think zerg is too strong. But this recently zerg got nerfed very hard. I think it is the nature of zerg to be able to fast expand and create multiple cheap units in the early game, which makes its economy imbalance compare to others

Serral is just that good, he's been either the best or one of the best players in the world for quite some time now. I don't think he was super dominant either, games one and two were really close, could have easily gone either way. Game 3 was pretty one sided, but if Maru makes a couple slightly better plays in game 1, it could easily have been a 2-0 win for Maru.

@@redwings13400 game one looked close but if you take a look at that mid game to late game eco and map control Serral was well ahead. And for him to know that and just keep taking equivalent or decent trades was just so frustrating to watch as Terran. His macro is definitely on point. Waves and waves of cheap Zerg unit trades is so scary.

@@BauKim Yeah its so scary that you have a cheap mass producable unit that can shot both air and ground, and has 0 frame turn rate and re-fire ability so it can basicly move and shoot at the same time losing only frames, compared to EVERY SINGLE UNIT in the game that has a huge wind up and down animation when firing that can only be broken by micro intensive lift and release, while terran micro only needs a spamable A move regular move combo. I would add either a reload mechanic or a turn rate to marines or both tbh. Maybe massivly reduce theire dmg when hitting air, or at least theire range, and add siege dmg to reduce dmg against bases. Fuck marines seriously. Oh yeah and remove rate of fire when stimed. or if all else fails at least make them unable to re-fire until the original fire animation timer is up that they cancel out by moving.

This serie shows the IMBALANCE of ZvP !!! Terran needs FIREBATS and MEDICS!! Also the reason there is no splash is because Banshees don't have their barrage ability to be Mobile AND do AOE!! Tanks are static and so are mines (dont dare to tell me they can reposition because it's way too slow and they can't fire while doing that!!! Also for the love of ghosts why don't they have their double snipe ability???? That steady targeting is way inferior!!! Where were the ravens in those games ???? Nuke should NEVER alert the other players; also even if the ghost dies how does this isn't controlled by machines from base hello!!!! Where is the research to get mech unit transform 4 times faster???? REAL static defenses for Terrans are needed, aka Flamming Betties and Auto Turrets (yes remove them from ravens and give the mech healing disk ability in place)
