Absolutely amazing video! So much life and fish behavior that we don't see or understand. Seeing the fluke's reaction to the bucktail/gulp vs the strip was my biggest takeaway. Also fascinating to see how many fish look at the strip and don't eat it. Thanks again John!

Several fish over ten pounds that I have taken opted for the bucktail and Gulp! over a live bait (bergal) that was sitting in the adjacent rod holder. I really hope you get an opportunity to drop this down over an active bunker school at some point.

Just unbelievable video! This is the best yet! What's funny is what's happening in the mind's eye of the fisherman, has nothing to do with what's actually happening on the bottom. All I can say is " More, More, Please!

John, I have to give you tons of credit, you certainly know how to find fish. The vids are great. Seeing that many fluke together, makes me think the fishery is on the comeback. Showing the swimming towards you after hooked is classic as I have been surprised more than once with these slick bastards. Thanks for the vid and fish on!

I'm used to fishing those on land in long island, 2oz sinker with bloodworm on a straight shank. If you put tension on the line, when you get a hit you'll actually see the line loose tension. When you set the hook they will curve their tail downward and dig in the sand.
@bowhuntingunlimited97569 жыл бұрын
Love fluke fishing. That buck tail setup is exactly what I use but here in jersey we fish a little deeper water and use anywhere from 1oz-8oz bucktails on the bottom. Surprisingly small fish will still hit the 8oz buck tail

This camera would be great to see on a bucktail rig fishing a rip for bass... Reefs are slow on the north shore of Long Island Sound here in CT as of 5/29. Saw a lot of boats dragging strip baits off of Greenport over the weekend not sure how they fared. Another great video please keep them coming. Anyone watching these videos that hasn't read John's books yet needs to read them. I learned more in reading one chapter of one of his books than I could learn in 5 season of fishing.

Now THAT is cool! I've flounder fished all my life and this is the first time I've ever seen a flounder hit underwater. Their behavior after the strike tells me I need to set the hook as soon as they hit if I'm fishing jigs or lures with multiple hooks. Live bait? Do a live bait video! ;) Awesome stuff. Keep it up!
