Great reaction! Wintersun is a Finnish band, so the singing changed to Finnish at the end. This band is Nightwish's brother band - two of the members are actually also in Nightwish. Megadeth always had amazing guitar players, and many fans were sad when Kiko announced his departure last year, but even though I also regret him, I was very enthusiastic when I learned that he had recommended Teemu to take his place. Teemu is an absolute monster on guitar. One of the most precise, clean and humble player. (and now that he knows him, Dave Mustaine seems to appreciate his playing A LOT) EDIT : Je viens de voir la fin de ta réaction, avec la page de recherche sur WIntersun en Français... Il me semblait bien que ça pouvait être ça, la pointe d'accent que je décelais ton anglais (excellent ceci dit, je serais beaucoup moins fluide à l'oral pour ma part ;-) )

The wind with the chimes is exactly how TIME I starts. So yesh I really recommend listening to TIME I and TIME II all the way from beginning to end if you like this :)

Awesome reaction. Its refreshing to see people who never heard bands previously give their opinions. The finnish part of the song is sang canon style. If you arent famimiar with what canon style is its amusical style where a melody is introduced by one part and then repeated by other parts, creating an interplay of melodies that harmonize. If you enjoyed this song check out what others have left here. Forest seasons wasnt mentioned its an underared album in my opinion. Try giving NE Obliviscaris : And Plague Flowers the Kaleidoscope a listen. They are a banf from Australia and one if the vocalists is a violinist. Wow what a great comment there about liking that there was no video and you have to use your imagination to pitcher what you are feeling. That is what it was like for we old timers who grew up listen to the radio or playing our records. The most prophetic song ever written was the Boggles hit Video Killed the Radio Star. Who knew back then that would be so true.

Sometimes I feel like you interpret things in your own way while listening to music even tho it's great to have the artists version on their work sure, but sometimes it's also good to have your own first!

In France the most, that's where I live 😁 wasn't it to hard to switch from Classical Studies to Astronomy? I guess that's more of a scientific path!

Thank you, it was a nice video! Nightwish and Wintersun share more than just part of their crew, namely they both also have fans in common. Which is no wonder, when the composer-lyricist of both is a master in his field. When NW announced last year that they would be on an indefinite hiatus (that is, after the release of the new album, there will be no supporting tour), I already had time to hope that Wintersun would go on tour. But Jari Mäenpää said this summer that Wintersun will not go on tour either. But Jari is already writing new songs for the next albums... It has since become clear that Auri (members: Tuomas and his wife Johanna and Troy) is currently making a new album (Auri's third album), which will be recorded in the winter and released next spring. Then in the fall of 2025, Auri will do a European tour. There will be 3 NW musicians playing on the tour (Tuomas, Troy and Kai). Kai also plays drums for the Auri album. So some of the Nightwish musicians are busy now from autumn to autumn next year, but with a different band. That partly explains why NW can't tour next year.

Oh wow I didn't know about this at all! I've done some research after I listed to this song about the band members and indeed I was surprised to find out some of them also work with other great bands! And yes that explain certainly the fact Nighwish won't tour! But I hope to see them live as soon as they do in Europe! And indeed before even knowing about this I felt as well a vibe similar to Nightwish! But even more to Dream Theater too, that's the band I couldn't remember the name of in the video haha anyway thanks a lot for your comment!

Very good reaction. There is many great metal-bands in Finland. You seem to like Finnish metal. Why not try Beast in Black or Battle Beast for example.

In case you weren't aware already, some of us waited nearly half our lives to hear this song. The main instruments were recorded back in 2006! A beautiful way to close out this long saga. Thanks for sharing your reaction. By the way, this song has not been played live (yet). The album released August 30th 2024 and the band has not done any shows since and have no plans for any in the near future because the man behind the band, Jari, is commited to working on the next album which by his estimate is already 80% done.

Hi Athena great first time reaction to Wintersun silver leaves beautiful intense emotional music but that's Wintersun is known for the are a symphonic metal band from Finland and they are a sister band with nightwish because nightwish has band members that are in wintersun . Wintersun uses viking folklore in their music too. I would like to recommend a suggestion next to continue on your Wintersun rabbit hole with a song that every one I've seen on KZbin react to get introduced to Wintersun. @@AthenaDK Wintersun has a wide range of different elements, not only symphonic metal, but they even use hundreds of tracks in some of their songs. Variations of power, black, folk, gothic, doom and progressive metal can be found in different songs.

Im not the biggest Wintersun guy. Nothing wrong with them, just not my style. I did check Time 2 since as a finnish metalhead it was almost my duty to hear the mythological Time 2 😂 but my point is this song is incredible. Absolutely love it. Maybe because its not an overwhelming wall of sound like most of their songs.

@@ZonZorZerx wow ok now try to say it without being a supermegadouche... sure there is a lot going on, but he meant not like other wintersun songs where you get the feeling of being swallowed by a wave of sound. Way of the fire is a good example. I like being hit by a blast of music, some people dont.

This song is my least favorite in the album (or in both albums: Time I and Time II). That doesn't mean it's bad. Far from it. It just means that rest of the songs are extra phenomenal. If you decide to listen to the songs of Time I (definitely should), make sure it's the 2.0 version, since it is a new mix and master so it's up to today's standards (the remastered live rehearsal in Sonic Pump Studios -videos are also great, a bit more raw versions, but still extremely good quality and very pleasant)
