Such an Insane difference digital photo and the print on the very last composition. Printed, it just works perfectly

I like how you are using your logo in the videos now. Leaving it some time on the screen to breathe is good. It felt rushed on previous videos. Nice.

Very inspiring video. As a Norwegian landscape-photographer I am rather used to snowy conditions, but I really find it very uninspiring with all those whites. Watching this was both relaxing and inspiring.

Adam, that was a most enjoyable half-hour program that popped up just when I most needed it. The first arbutus tree image was fabulous! My fave all the way. Either version, they were both gorgeous. I like the videos you do with the guys, Gavin, Tom, and Nick, and always get a chuckle from them but this is the sort of video that got me hooked on your channel. Great explanations and examples. It's getting hot in Thailand now as summer begins and that made the snow look so refreshing as well. Thank you muchly.

Normally I lean more towards neutrals, but of the first two, the blue version adds that subtle change of drama and coolness with more contrast that adds depth. You are really refining our eyes!

In one of the recent PS CC updates there is a "Depth Aware Haze" Ai filter for haze. Filter > Neural Filters > Beta Filters > Depth Aware Haze! Works pretty well as a alternative option to neg dehaze. Works "in the cloud" so takes a second for the effect to take in your image.

I need to find me a Madrone patch somewhere around me. It is so hard for me to be motivated when the light is super flat. Snow can help, even better is a subject with an offsetting color to the white. The first tree is lovely, beautiful comp @16:9. That comp in mist/fog or as you said, heavy snow would be grand. Wonder if adjusting the aperture for DOF could create more separation of the trees... Absolutely love the last comp in Horizontal! Very appealing to the eye with contrast and curves and the snow is clean with no protruding stuff, always a distraction to me usually. Loved the video! Thanks, Adam!!!!

For what its worth, I don't think getting the bit of branch going down and to the right in focus was an issue. It being out of focus creates natural depth to the photo and pushes the eye back into the frame, rather than dragging it to the corner... at least that's my impression. Nice shots, and well earned with busy scenes.

I always find it hard to work in snowy conditions. Not sure why but something with the dominance of white and the ease by which it takes on a color cast, makes it hard for me to find it appealing.

Lovely shots you managed to get there, it's not so easy getting out there with all the equipment in thick snow :)

You're lucky to be able to get out in the snow. I live near a national park that usually gets about 3 good snows a year. But, if it gets a lot of snow they close the roads and by the time the roads open the snow is gone.

Great work Adam! We all suffer from the “snow paradox”! Things covered in snow look amazing to the human retina but not as “wow” on the camera. Our neurocircuits are capabale or focusing on certain objects and ignoring others, however, cameras are not as sharp or smart as the human retina and visual cortex!

Lovely as always Adam. Do Crepe Myrtle trees grow on Vancouver Island? The Arbutus trees remind me of the Crepe Myrtle trees I had in my yard in Virginia. Beautifully colored bark and wonderful long lasting bloom.

Snowy overcast photos are fun because loading an image in LR our instinct is to always push the color temp right, and it absolutely doesn't work on these scenes. Embrace that blue cast!
@alanatwood79953 жыл бұрын
I like the last one in the vertical, but I could see doing a wider pano as well, but in the video I may not have the entire grasp of the scene. Im not a big fan of shooting at iso 1600 but you do it remarkably well. Great job on the explanations as well!!
@erichstocker41733 жыл бұрын
I liked that first photo quite a bit but I agree with you on the second. Interesting tree but light too flat. I liked the final image and the tree seems almost like some animal. I think your processing of it fit really well.

Why did you choose not to use a wider aperture to throw the background trees out of focus?
