Under democracy, developing robust and active policies and their implementation are challenging due to the need to gain consensus from all stakeholders. On the other hand, China's autocratic system allows for swift action, as the government can push through whatever it wants. For example, infrastructure projects often require land acquisition, and relocating people from affected land is not straightforward in India . In a democracy, people can challenge land acquisition in court and potentially stop the project to retain their land. In China, however, the situation is markedly different, as people cannot challenge autocratic decisions through the courts. Nevertheless, the biggest advantage of democracy is that every policy and idea is generated through brainstorming; in other words, it incorporates stakeholders' ideas. In contrast, in an autocratic system, many ideas and policies can go awry because they are generated by very few people and only require the approval of the autocrat.
