2:05 - First train ride in India (disaster)
16:29 - Arrived in Allepey, Kerela
20:57 - $20 hotel in Allepey
22:50 - First adventure in Allepey
24:07 - Indian head wobbles
28:02 - My favourite restaurant in India
32:39 - A terrifying Indian beach
38:44 - Sundown cultural talk
44:18 - Modern cafe in India
So my trip to Kerala started off a little... interesting. Let's just say my first train ride in India wasn't exactly smooth sailing. But hey, that's half the fun of travel, right? Anyway, we finally rolled into Allepey, a gorgeous town with these calm backwaters that are seriously stunning.
Our hotel wasn't fancy, but for $20 a night, it was clean and comfy - perfect for budget backpackers like me. Speaking of adventures, the first one in Allepey is gonna have to wait and see, but trust me, it's a good one!
Ever wondered what that head wobble thing means in India? Yeah, me too. I learned all about this funny little cultural quirk and how it's used in everyday life. Now, onto the important stuff - food! I found this incredible restaurant that serves up the most delicious Kerala cuisine I've had yet. My taste buds are doing a happy dance!
Beaches are supposed to be relaxing, right? Well, let's just say my Allepey beach experience was a bit more, uh, intense than I bargained for. It was definitely scary, but also weirdly beautiful in a way you'll have to see to believe.
As the sun dipped below the horizon, we stumbled upon a cool cultural talk. It was a great way to unwind and learn a bit more about Kerala's traditions, history, or maybe even some unique art form. Who knows, maybe you'll learn something too!

Indian railways is not user-friendly-especially for foreigners. There are many well meaning Indians who speak good English. Not all are crooks. Foreign tourists need to be open enough to seek help from honest Indians. I accompanied a foreign couple for 40 days wherever they went in Kerala to guide and help them. But most tourists are scared to take help from our people.

India is for experienced male backpackers only. I'm sure it's a beautiful country with a rich culture, and it can be safe if you have a big travel budget. Hello Oli....... Just got to see your vlog and since you asked for some advise on the names of the city in Bharat (India), it was your forefathers who gave all the names that suited them, for the ease to pronounce... Such as Cochin, which now is Kochi in the local lingo, Bangalore as Bengaluru, Madras as Chennai, Bombay as Mumbai, Calcutta as Kolkata. So we Indians, let say so, are changing all the British legacy, albeit extremely slow. Hopefully, after the present general election to the India parliament, things will rush with more pace. Regards your travel to Alleppey, you wished to travel by the ac coach, all that you needed to do, was to get a ticket as you did or, buy a platform ticket and board the train..... And when you meet the TTE (travelling ticket examiner), you could pay the difference of fare for the coach you are travelling in, e.g you bought a ticket of Rs.35 for a general compartment travel, i.e. a second class general compartment, non-ac. So for the ac travel that you did, if the fare is say Rs 100, you would have paid the difference of Rs.65 only + a fine for not having a ac class fare. Same thing, you could buy a platform ticket of Rs 10 and board the ac class and pay the difference only. Having said this, please chk at the railway station of what I have said above with platform ticket. However, you just got away by travelling in the ac compartment, since you did encounter or meet up with the TTE. Your luck was good..... But you had to bear with the special aroma 😂 standing at the doorway. If you had gone into the compartment, anyone would have obliged you to sit with them since your journey was so short. They would perhaps have helped you with the TTE too. Nevertheless, please check at the railways of what I have mentioned here. Have a nice time in Bharat.

Fak .. there's place and time and process to book the ticket, it's online you or can do from cyber cafe. Why are you specially from Uk or Us people are so ignorant? Why so dam ?? Can't just Google it or research it before doing anything. And it's not luxury but necessary and affordable. That's what common people need they don't need luxury. If i see any ignorance from you i will report you. There's literally different types trans . Even Japan have different classes and types of trains not just bullet trains.

I know you have traveled in China for a few years. Can you tell us what you think comparing China and India? I keep hearing Indians chanting India is global superpower, India is the voice of Global South. So I guess India must be 10 times more advanced and developed than China.

Indian here. Indian Railways had not been this way. There is a plan to sell off Indian Railways to some capitalists, and hence, the government is purposefully neglecting the facilities. We common Indians have been constantly rising the issue to resolve but instead of resolving Indian government hires influential youtubers to counter our grievances. I thank you for speaking on behalf of Middle class

Just see how uncivilized people are. Can't even form a line to queue up for buying tickets. This you won't see in the Far East countries like China, Korea, Japan and even South East Asia countries.

Govt would never have thought to sell it if the department worked properly. Modi came for 10 years, why did the railway not be improved before that compared to the other countries ? Lazy departments are full of excuses.

Of course it’s it’s bad since the government manages everything like shit and the officials are knee deep in corruption, at least the capitalists are driven by profit unlike any government official who has the motivation of a comatose sloth
