India's Stand On China Bolder Than Ever Before

Noted Tibet expert and journalist, Vijay Kranti is of the firm belief that the recent meeting of a bi-partisan delegation of U.S. lawmakers with the Dalai Lama and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, sent a clear message to China.
In an interview to Strat News Global, the Delhi based Tibetologist presented a bird’s eye view on issues related to Tibet and China. He said that although former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s remarks were controversial, she was fair in explaining the contrast between the Dalai Lama and Xi Jinping.
Vijay who has known the Dalai Lama for over fifty years, dismissed criticism that India allowed the U.S. delegation to make anti China remarks on Indian soil. He says that the Indian government’s stand on China has become bolder than ever before and this is a very positive sign.
He added that although no country over 70 years approved human rights atrocities the Chinese were committing on the Tibetans inside Tibet, nobody had the courage to challenge China especially after Xi Jinping took over.
Vijay says that the passage of three American resolutions on Tibet, is a sign that the world has started thinking more clearly on Tibet and China. The Canadian House of Commons, has also passed a similar resolution. This is bound to have a cascading effect and the next step may be in the European Parliament which has a history of being pro Tibet. He is hopeful that President Biden will sign the Resolve Tibet Act. He may even sign it on the Dalai Lama’s birthday on July 6, during his U.S. visit.
Vijay says that Xi Jinping has triggered off a reaction by his bullying and the U.S. is determined to fight back.
On the question of reincarnation, he wondered why China, which has been so anti-religion and has been abusing the Dalai Lama, is interested in a reincarnation of the Dalai Lama.
He says that China has realized that the Dalai Lama’s influence cannot go and that is why they want the next reincarnation of the Dalai Lama, in their hands.
At the same time, he thinks that the Communist Party of China and its leader Xi Jinping may feign indifference to international opinion but they are actually scared of it.

This is very interesting. I am Ukrainian and I didn't know much about the history of China's invasion of Tibet. Very sad. I now feel sympathetic to Tibetans. Hope one day they will have an opportunity for freedom, just as Ukraine had. Unfortunately, it often takes a lot of blood and toil to fight it off the occupying power.

Anything to do with the old system in Tibet is supporting slavery. Pls tell me if any Indians today support slavery under British rules and long for their return? I m an Indian born Tibetan. China wishes for the world to remember that Tibet is a part of China and ignore the fact that Tibet was once an independent country. Every time someone expresses support for Tibet, it serves as a reminder to the Chinese Government that its efforts to change the world's perspective have failed. The fact that they do not like to be confronted about the Tibet issue shows that they are not ready to discuss and come up with a solution that will promote peace and harmony in Tibet. @@firetree2007 Firstly Modi is not jingping.. Secondly He will do what is right by india as country. Fulffilling Chinese's petty demands is not in his priority list. If the sneaky Chinese army does any sneak attacks along the border, he'll make sure China to be in his priority list. Whatever China wants the world to believe, it won't change the fact that Tibet was an independent country before 1959. Expecting freedom from China isn't something I expect.. Tibetans in India and abroad live comfortably and get proper education and most of them speak three languages and can read and write Tibetan English and Hindi. So we're okay here and I'm more connected to India than Tibet because India's my country of birth. For the sake of Tibetans in Tibet and those who have lost their lives, it feels unfair not to speak out for free Tibet. Tibetans will keep fighting for Free Tibet until their last breath, even if it seems impossible. We won't give up. We're the voice of our brothers and sisters in Tibet, and we won't let them down. Keeping every generation informed about the facts won't let Chinese propaganda fool them. In the past, when the Chinese army ran out of food, India supplied rice. Even animals show gratitude when you feed them, unlike China's sneaky neighbors. Untrustworthy. INDIA is aware of China's intentions and won't trust a snake again.
