Beautiful job, is there a place you recommend to buy Persian Mills from?

Hi Gavriel, In a word 'NO'. Buying meels in the west is a real HIT and MISS affair. I bought a set of Meels in Tehran (5 pairs) back in 2014, they have all lost weight because they were made from green wood and have dried out over the years making them lighter. Meels currently exported from Iran have the same problem, they are made from timber with a high moisture content that dry out and split which requires repair, plus they are very expensive to buy and ship. Western made meels do not have the correct proportions and the handles are incorrect, making them difficult to swing. I'm sorry if this sounds negative, but I want to give you and honest opinion.

Could you put the characteristics of your lathe, brand-model-voltage-motor power-distance between tips, etc. Or the minimum requirements of the lathe, to be able to manufacture the Meels and the Joris? Thank you very much in advance, you do a great job with the clubs. Greetings from Spain.👍

You need a lathe that has a minimum of 1000mm between centres to make Persian Meels. To make Jori you would need a lathe that has 1200mm between centres. My lathe was made by Vicmarc in Australia, and it has a single phase 240w motor, with three pulleys.

Hi Randy, I use Titebond III Ultimate Wood Glue - Exterior/Interior. It does the job very well.
