I am 25 right now with no earnings and would be 28-29 by the time i start earning anything …..most important things for students like me is to take burden off of my parents …….Priority is not to get rich but to be self dependent and free parents from taking care of my expenses

That's the reason why doctors in india(including me) want to move to western countries. India doesn't give a doctor what he/she deserves (Which might be in terms of respect or pay) . It will be better if india changes its healthcare system well before all doctors leave India to settle abroad.

Bruh this comment section is full of people who pity on indians who pursue doctor as career in india. As if an average indian is making millions and hesitant to pay when they visit a doctor. Candidates who doesn't score enough marks in NEET to get a government aided medical seat have to pay a lot money as donation to college to get a seat. Medical degree is an expensive degree when compared to any other degree in india. And why would they pay a truck load of money to be a doctor to get paid nothing?. Once a doctor get to a certain level there is no other day job that pays like a doctor. Unless that person is a corrupt government employee or a business man they cannot make that kind of money. I live in a city ,from my childhood i visit two different clinic's near my house when i need theirs help. And both the doctor's children are doctors as well. Now think why would a doctor in india would pay close to 1 core rupees for management seat in medical college for their children to be doctor if the pay is dog crap?. If you want a young doctor in india to be paid over 200,000$ per year then indian standard of living must be increased first. If you compare any profession then pay in india with western countries the pay will be less only indian standard of living is cheap. There a people who work 8/day and make less than 100$ a month in India.

India: Where your admission into a medical school is decided heavily from which caste you are from but not your education. Where everyone expects you to practice your profession either free of cost or at very cheap rates. Where you get thrashed and lynched because you were unable to save a 90year old guy that took his last breath. Where you do unspeakable things as an intern just to graduate. You can earn about rs.12 lakh per year if you are pursuing your residency from an apex institute, e.g. AIIMS. The fees are next to none there and you get all the facilities. So, basically, if you get selected in a good government college you can earn while you learn and not spend much of it, on the another hand if you pursue your training from a private college, you will get robbed of most of your money and not have much left in the end. You cannot compare INDIAN DOCTORS salary to that of the UK ones as the cost of living is very different in both of the countries, however, it wouldn't hurt to give the DOCTORS the extra money for the extra hard work that they have to do in INDIA.

Although free or negative pay is the lowest, as for the UK or the USA, those incredibly high wages also have much higher costs for necessities. As for my area the minimum rent for a 1bedroom apt is $1,000/month, in the nearby city it is $1,300-1,500. These are bad apts in possibly dangerous neighborhoods. There are almost zero options for rooming houses. Just 1 room in place is usually $700. There are quite a few fully employed people who live in their car, or in a shelter, or tent. The tent cities (American slums) are regularly cleared/destroyed. In winter it is very possible to freeze to death.

I didn't research more.. And there is coming UKMLE for UK in 2023 may be.. it's not confirmed yet and if you're in lower grades then I think you should do reasearch about it and doing MBBS there is also worthy.. you'll get paid always but in India there is no this kinda system.. @@eda-ew1dm Well that's not a valid reason ! In india doctors are respected most . It's only due to current situation that people (few) are misbehaving with doctor . In india now a days doctors are called as warriors. I know money is needed every where but noting is important then saving a life. Serving your country is the biggest achievement a person get . And going to abroad for serving is not better then serving in your own country 🙏 . Everyone wait for the opportunity for serving the nation .Around 35% of USA doctors are indians. If they would have worked in india instead of US they had saved many life's but it's heartbreaking 💔

I feel bad for doctors in India. Though doctors are not the only community that gets paid badly. Engineers that work in IT get paid a pittance, especially at the junior level. Also, it does seem that senior doctors in India just ensure that the terrible working conditions that they experienced keep continuing for junior doctors and residents. Also, I would question the physical and mental stamina that a doctor in India doing a straight forty hours would have. And the quality of treatment an underpaid overworked doctor can give their patients.

US doctors - 4 years college + 4 year Medical schools + 2 years residency + 2 years of specialization. Also all the board exams and medical licences. The tutution fees they are paying is minimum 300k to 350k dollars, where as in india and UK doctors dont have to spend this much money and time in university. The fees is very very less of what in US. So American doctor get paid more because of thier investment in time and money and this cannot be compare with India and UK

It's crazy how much both you guys are under paid. Especially in India. I'm also assuming that your guys' education takes longer than mine. I was making 60k as an electrical/computer engineering intern (though it was a fortune 500). If I was going to a normal company and had the full degree, it'd be closer to 70k. Note this is with a bachelor's degree and in Oregon. At this same company apparently they were paying an AI developer 300k to effectively be retained as they didn't have work for him. He quit due to bordem.

The part when he was laughing after hearing his total annual pay of £49,700 was so sad😔 like he has worked equally hard during his medschool and now he is working nonstop for more than 100hrs seriously. The wage he is getting is not at all doing justice mannnn. This is why every doctor graduating from Indian, Pakistani private or government medical universities want to go out to UK, USA, Canada, Australia etc where at least the doctors are treated like humans who have to run their families too. I am a third year medical student in Pakistan. It's the same story here too. I feel you bro. The system is so corrupt😔 Here the pay for private medical universities is around 12-14 lakh per year for MBBS. And when you graduate you ain't getting anything!!!! Pay 20-80 lakhs as fees and then get anywhere from 30k to 60k /month as salary post mbbs. Why would anyone in their sane mind not choose to work abroad? Think from a doctors perspective. And if you've taken a student loan, how can you be expected to pay 20+ lakhs plus interest? Wouldn't you have a family of your own to take care of?

@@pradipchaterjee9576 that can be very much true as some doctors who choose to complete their pg from abroad, do return back home. This again, backs up my point. For FRCS/CCT they'd have completed around 4-10 years of training and by that time they would have easily made up all the money they've spent initially for their MBBS studies. The main noteworthy point is, doing PG abroad in countries like UK & US you are earning as you learn and get trained which is completely different from here in India where you'd have to pay 2x more the amount you spent on ug. And those foreign degrees are recognised worldwide. With an Indian degree, you'd always have to sit for screening exams if you do chose to settle abroad.
