For students of today. When India was born in 1947, there was lot of capital flight out of the country. Nehru period agriculture was left out because large tract of lands were owned by traditional rulers and land lords. The world was divided which economic model to pursue and India came up with initial period of economy by investing in new temple model; During sastri time, India achieved land reform and agriculture sector plus science made food sufficiency. In short, politically speaking today’s India steady growth with pit falls due to various congress government. The NDA 1.0 and 2.0 has eroded last 20 years of economic achievement in 4 years and worst is yet to come. India taxes are too much in every sector today and there is no incentives for foreign or domestic investors . Whenever govt limits how much money you can have in banks or in your house, economy is doomed.
