I'm currently in the USA and my major is Healthcare system engineering. Its all about defragmentation aspects of healthcare in the US. My aim is to study the Healthcare system of USA here people pay lots of money for better healthcare but in returns results are very less. I want to take deep dive into the concepts like lean six sigma methodologies, Telemedicine and EHR vs. EMR. USA healthcare system is best at the same time it is worst system around the world. USA has mixed model (bismarck model, beveridge model, NHI model, out of pocket model) and has quality and equity issue. WHO rating of overall performance like fairness in financing 25% and health inequality 25% and rank is 37th. Here healthcare providers suffering from burnout. There are shortage of skilled physicians and nurses in the USA. Different types of insurance like obama care (ACA), medicare, medicaid, CHIP, tricare....etc. overall, the current condition of healthcare in the USA is very bad and it need correction.

This is just brilliant. I don't know why it doesn't have the reach it deserves, but this is a gem!

It's a bit rich for the Head of Neurosurgery at a large private hospital to talk about treating patients as "family" and not "clients". Maybe that's what it takes to get residents and other staff to work inhuman hours in pathetic conditions at low wages. Also, for someone talking about asking questions, I found no hard questions nor any real solutions in this talk. Just some America-bashing (which is always a crowd-pleaser), a lot of nostalgia for the "good old days", and some quibbling about terminology. I would have been more interested in knowing what reforms he himself has brought about, or at least tried to bring about, in his 50 years in medicine.

Can we implement something like Australian Medicare in India? It's like people who need the most can get the service.
