Hiii so I have an explanation for why Pooja got so popular with us fruit bowls, it's a long story: So ya'll know stan twitter right? It kinda branched out into tiktok in the form of floptok, the Pooja meme got popular in both communities, but it went to further lengths on floptok, you see floptropica is a war torn nation ruled by the flops, they used to be a kingdom ruled by Queen Nicole minj (Nicki minaj's great grandma), but after getting assassinated by daboys, the daboys are the enemy nation of floptropica, over many wars and battles, many people have died on both sides. Anyway, after the floptropica queendom became the floptropica nation, elections were held to determine the ruling president, usually us flops rooted for queen Deborah, she runs a funeral parlor, and she is still the best candidate, but another presidential candidate exists, it's Pooja, after defeating trishi paytussy, Pooja has won the hearts of many, but will it be enough votes to make her president of floptropica? Well, we'll have to wait and see.

omg not gonna lie, i didn't realise the "johnny, johnny? yes, papa?" thing was an indian nursery thyme! i knew of it because of some videos danny gonzalez did a few years ago. it sort of became a meme because the channel that was doing the videos he talks about in particular (the channel was named BillionSurpriseToys, just checked) ended up making a bit of a "story" with the videos. they made several, but it had a talking fridge with arms, the mom and dad get divorced and the mom gets remarried, the dad becomes the sons doctor?? or maybe parts of that was made up by danny? i KNOW the fridge had arms and was singing though lol. it also had pretty weird animation. danny's video is titled "unintentionally terrifying children's videos" if you wanted to check that out. otherwise, the channel is named BillionSurpriseToys - Nursery Rhymes & Cartoons, and it you search them the top result is still johnny and refrigerator friend lolol also, i'd never seen the borris johnson video before but really do adore how he said gulab jamun with his whole chest lol

Your point about Mundian toh Bach ke really struck a chord with me (no pun intended), while it's definitely a great track I've seen it be used in many places for "Indian" representation where it's in fact completely out of place, like the video will have some beach in Chennai featured and you will have this track playing in the background giving one a feeling of total whiplash. I feel like for a lot of people, South/ southeast asian humour is hard to understand unless you were raised in that culture. Unfortunately a lot of the "humour" westeners get from these memes is getting the opportunity to punch down in a way, and have an excuse to be racist. Im in Australia, and anytime my Filipino friends make jokes in public, they get the blankest of stares. Kinda sad, but interesting that humour barriers exist.

i watched indian (tamil) soaps with my grandma everytime i went to india (sun tv...iykyk). the amount singapennae and mr manaivi lore i know is off the CHARTS. and yeah they're about as ridiculous as you can imagine, way more over the top than american soaps with the dramatic close ups and music, but the editing isn't over the top like the famous meme is. but honestly? the funniest part is the lack of sound design. i think they literally ADR'd every single voice line, so the only audio ur hearing is the dramatic background music and the characters' voices. there's no ambient sound. it was actually extremely funny when i made that connection😂
