I’m from Goa and when I went to another state for my clg I was surprised to see how much of a common thing this was. It seems that Indian men in India may lack the understanding of social cues when it comes to gauging a woman's interest. This has contributed to the stereotype that "all Indian men are horny creeps," which is pervasive in some Western countries. I'm fortunate to say that I am not personally affected by this stereotype, as I am confident and self-assured, which helps me stand out. However, during my upbringing, I can't emphasize enough how it affected my mindset and self-esteem. I heard about Indian men from India sending inappropriate messages to women I know, and it left me feeling embarrassed by association. About two years ago, I came across a video by a Russian woman who shared her experiences traveling in India. She described instances of harassment and made me feel disgusted. I want to clarify that not all Indian men behave this way, but the actions of a few have tarnished the reputation of many. The misconception that foreign women are promiscuous is deeply ingrained in some Indian men's minds. Conversely, I've noticed that in my experience, many white women here are more conservative when it comes to relationships and sex compared to some of the Indian women I've known. Which is totally the opposite of what your average Indian man growing up in India might think. To clarify, I didn’t say that to put down my own fellow Indian sisters, but I think it’s important to understand that the idea of all white girls just being slutty and promiscuous is so far from the truth. Upbringing, self-esteem, and other factors play a role in this, but it's a complex issue. The influence of pornography on Indian men's perceptions of foreign women is significant. And the lack of social skills for Indian men to respectively court our own Indian sisters respectfully seems to be missing. I believe there's a lack of strong role models for young Indian men to look up to. They need guidance on how to become better men, and this is where figures like Jordan Peterson can offer valuable lessons. One statement by Peterson that resonated with me was, and this is not a direct quote but a gist of what he said: "If the type of woman you like are consistently not interest in you, you need to self-reflect and understand why that's happening. You should stop doing things that don't work and focus on what does, rather than blaming women for not finding you attractive." Basically holding us men accountable that if you as a woman don’t like me, it’s my fault because even though not every woman will like you, you can always improve as a man! Not every woman will be interested in you, and that's perfectly fine, but improving yourself to be more appealing is a perspective that young Indian men might not be exposed to. In practice what I’ve seen Indian men being like when faced with rejection is prehistoric in a kinda funny way. It’s like- you girl, you white, you sleep with man you like sex, why won’t you have sex with me? You are meant to be slut🗿like bruh don’t you have a mother and a sister? Like damn bro. It's disheartening that those who need to hear this message may not even see it because they're preoccupied with consuming pornography. It's essential for Indian men to understand that porn is not a reflection of reality. In closing I’ll say, I wish the desperation of some Indian men wasn't so extreme, as it has negatively influenced the perceptions of many Western women all around the world regarding Indian men as potential partners.
