Named for hockey standout and racing fan Erik Johnson, who won the 2022 Stanley Cup while playing for the Colorado Avalanche, E J Won The Cup figures to be one of the favorites in Saturday's $300,000, Grade 3 Indiana Derby at Horseshoe Indianapolis. We caught up with trainer Doug O'Neill at Churchill Downs over the weekend to find out more about E J Won The Cup, winner of the Turf Paradise Derby and the Texas Derby and third in the Grade 1 Santa Anita Derby.
